The All Tripura Chess Association (ATCA) is the apex body for the game of chess in Tripura, India. It was formed in 1974 and is affiliated with the All India Chess Federation. [1]

History

The All Tripura Chess Association was created in 1974 and initially had the following persons as administrative representatives : Pranab Kumar Ghosh (President), Kanti Kumar Chakraborty (Secretary), Sudhir Dasgupta (Treasurer). [1]

The association organizes national and regional level tournaments. It organized the National B Championship in 1982, the National A Championship in 1983 and the 5th North Eastern Chess Championship in 1986. [1]

In April 2017, the Tripura Chess Club was created by Tripura's chess players to develop the game of chess throughout the state. [2]

Calcutta South Club is a historic lawn tennis club and tennis training centre in Kolkata, India. The club is on Woodburn Park Road beside Woodburn Park, located adjacent to the Bhawanipur Education Society College. Maximum tournaments and tennis clinics held by Mr. Akhtar Ali the former National and Davis Cup Coach of India.

The All India Chess Federation (AICF) is the central administrative body for the game of chess in India. Founded in 1951, the federation is affiliated to Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE), the world body for chess. The AICF has produced Viswanathan Anand, Nihal Sarin, Pentala Harikrishna, Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa and Vidit Santosh Gujrathi and many other grandmasters. The organisation is also in charge of managing women's chess in India. AICF's current headquarter is in New Delhi.

Sachin Dev Burman was an Indian music director and singer. A member of the Tripura royal family, he started his career with Bengali films in 1937. He later began composing for Hindi movies and became one of the most successful and influential Indian film music composers. Burman composed the soundtracks for over 100 movies, including Bengali films and Hindi. Apart from being a versatile composer, he also sang songs in the light semi-classical and folk style of Bengal. His son, R. D. Burman, was also a celebrated music composer for Bollywood films.

Many sports are played by the people of Tamil Nadu including both traditional sports and sports from other countries.

Vinod Kumar Sonkar is an Indian politician, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Since 2014, he is the Member of parliament from Kaushambi Uttar Pradesh. He is also the current chairperson of the Loksabha parliamentary committee on Ethics.
