Allen Schramm (born c. 1961) [1] is an American former competitive figure skater. He is the 1978 Nebelhorn Trophy champion, 1978 Grand Prix International St. Gervais champion, 1979 Prague Skate silver medalist, and 1980 NHK Trophy bronze medalist. [2]
The Nebelhorn Trophy is an international senior-level figure skating competition organized by the Deutsche Eislauf-Union and held annually in Oberstdorf, Germany. It became part of the ISU Challenger Series in the 2014–15 season.
The Grand Prix International St. Gervais was an annual senior-level international figure skating competition held in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, France. For many years, beginning in 1969, it was paired with a similar competition in Germany, the Nebelhorn Trophy, to form a series called the Coupe des Alpes. Sometimes the "Coupe des Alpes" name was applied to the French event only, but in fact it was a team trophy awarded based on combined results of both competitions. The official name of the competition was unrelated to and predated the use of "Grand Prix" in the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating.
The Prague Skate is an international figure skating competition. It was a senior event from the 1960s to 1997, usually held in November or December in Prague. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, and pair skating. Since 1999, it is organized in some years as part of the ISU Junior Grand Prix series.
He is the son of Ray Schramm, who skated for Ice Follies with his twin brother, Roy. [3] [4] Originally from San Francisco, Allen Schramm was coached by Peter Dunfield at New York's Sky Rink and represented the Skating Club of New York. [1] He and his wife, Angela Schramm (Greenhow), coached at the Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan until moving to Texas after 2002. [3] [5] They now work at the Stars Figure Skating Club of Texas. [6]
The Ice Follies, formerly known as the Shipstads & Johnson Ice Follies, was a touring ice show featuring elaborate production numbers, similar in concept to Ice Capades. It was founded in 1936 by Eddie and Roy Shipstad, and Oscar Johnson. In later years, Olympic skaters such as Donald Jackson, Barbara Berezowski, Peggy Fleming, and Janet Lynn were in the cast. Ice Follies also featured novelty acts such as Frick and Frack and Richard Dwyer, who was billed as "Mr. Debonair".

Peter Dunfield was a Canadian figure skater and coach. He competed in four skating, winning the 1949 North American silver medal, and single skating. He is best known for coaching Elizabeth Manley to the 1988 Olympic silver medal.
