Alliance Theological Seminary is an evangelical Christian seminary affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, located in Manhattan.
The seminary finds its roots from the Missionary Training Institute, a school established by A.B. Simpson to train missionaries for world service in 1882. [1] The school eventually became Nyack College, and the seminary stemmed out of its graduate program, founded in 1960 as the Jaffray School of Missions. In 1974, the program was redesigned and subsequently renamed to the Alliance School of Theology and Missions. It took its current name in 1979, and was accredited from 1990 to October 2023 [2] by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, [3] at which point it voluntarily relinquished accreditation.
In 2019, Nyack College closed Alliance Theological Seminary in Rockland County and moved all operations to the Manhattan campus. After changing its name to Alliance University, the college closed on August 31, 2023 after years of financial struggles. [4]
The seminary offers a variety of graduate degrees including M.A. in intercultural studies or biblical literature, M.P.S., M.Div., and D.Min. [5] In addition to the main campus in Nyack, there is a large satellite campus located in Manhattan, and an extension in Puerto Rico. [6] The 2012 enrollment was approximately 800 students. [5]
Moody Bible Institute (MBI) is a private evangelical Christian Bible college in Chicago, Illinois. It was founded by evangelist and businessman Dwight Lyman Moody in 1886. Historically, MBI has maintained positions that have identified it as non-charismatic, dispensational, and generally Calvinistic. Today, MBI operates undergraduate programs and Moody Theological Seminary at the Chicago campus. The Seminary also operates a satellite campus in Plymouth, Michigan. Moody Aviation operates a flight school in Spokane, Washington.

Trinity International University (TIU) is an evangelical Christian university headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois. It comprises Trinity College, Trinity Graduate School, a theological seminary, a law school, and a camp called Timber-lee. The university also maintains campuses in North Lauderdale, Florida & Miami, Florida; the camp is located in East Troy, Wisconsin. TIU is the only university affiliated with Evangelical Free Church of America in the United States and enrolls about 2,700 students. On February 17, 2023, TIU announced it was moving the undergraduate program to online modalities only and closed the residential campus at the end of the Spring 2023 semester.
Princeton Theological Seminary (PTSem), officially The Theological Seminary of the Presbyterian Church, is a private school of theology in Princeton, New Jersey. Founded in 1812 under the auspices of Archibald Alexander, the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA), and the College of New Jersey, it is the second-oldest seminary in the United States. New Brunswick Theological Seminary is a Reformed Christian seminary with its main campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey. It was founded in 1784 and is one of the oldest seminaries in the United States. It is a seminary of the Reformed Church in America (RCA), a mainline Reformed Protestant denomination in Canada and the United States that follows the theological tradition and Christian practice of John Calvin. First established in New York City under the leadership of the Rev. John Henry Livingston, who instructed aspiring ministers in his home, the seminary established its presence in New Brunswick in 1810. Although a separate institution, the seminary's early development in New Brunswick was closely connected with that of Rutgers University before establishing its own campus in the city in 1856. Since 1986, the seminary has also offered classes at a satellite location on the grounds of St. John's University in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, New York.

The Central Philippine University College of Theology, also referred to as CPU COT, CPU College of Theology, or CPU Theology, is a Baptist theological seminary and one of the academic units of Central Philippine University, a private research university in Iloilo City, Philippines. It was founded in 1905 as the Bible School for the training of Christian men, workers, and missionaries, through a grant from the American industrialist and Northern Baptist, John D. Rockefeller. The College of Theology is the oldest college and academic unit of Central Philippine University and the first and oldest Baptist theological seminary in the Philippines.
Alliance Bible Seminary, is a C&MA seminary, located in Cheung Chau, Hong Kong. The seminary was originally founded in 1899 in Wuzhou, Guangxi, under the name Alliance Bible College. Established by missionaries Dr. Robert Glover and Robert A. Jaffray, ABS was the first C&MA seminary to be founded overseas, and one of the first seminaries in South China. In 1949, the seminary was moved to Cheung Chau, Hong Kong by Dr. William C. Newbern after the Communist takeover of mainland China. ABS was founded before any church plant and trained many of its students for missionary work. After they graduated, most were sent to establish new churches. Hence, most churches of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Hong Kong were planted by their graduates.
