The Horizon League is a collegiate athletic conference in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. Headquartered in Indianapolis, the league's eleven member schools are located in and near the Great Lakes region.
The University of Wisconsin–Green Bay is a public university in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with regional campuses in Marinette, Manitowoc, and Sheboygan. Niele Deirdre Jamillah Viveca Ivey is an American college basketball coach and the current head coach for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball team. She is a former Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) player for the Indiana Fever, Detroit Shock, and Phoenix Mercury. Prior to her move to the NBA in August 2019, she was an assistant coach for the University of Notre Dame women's basketball team, where she had played in college. She was an All-American point guard and became the 17th player in school history to record over 1,000 career points. She received the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award presented for the nation's top player under 5'8" in 2001. She would go on to lead the Irish women to their first NCAA Championship in 2001, in her hometown of St. Louis as a fifth-year senior.
Skylar Kierra Diggins-Smith is an American professional basketball player for the Seattle Storm of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Diggins was drafted third overall by the Tulsa Shock in the 2013 WNBA draft. In high school, she was the National Gatorade Player of the Year and the Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year. She played college basketball for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and led the team to three consecutive Final Fours and two consecutive NCAA championship appearances. She finished her Notre Dame career ranked first in points and steals, second in assists, and as a two-time winner of the Nancy Lieberman Award as the top point guard in the nation.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball team is the intercollegiate women's basketball program representing University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. The program currently competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference of NCAA Division I. The Fighting Irish play their home games in the Purcell Pavilion at the Edmund P. Megan Lukan is a Canadian multi-sport athlete. Lukan switched to rugby from basketball after graduating in May 2015 from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, where she was a four-year starting guard for the Green Bay women's Division l basketball team. During her UWGB basketball career, Lukan set a number of records included most career assists since the team became a member of the NCAA's Division I and most minutes played during a career. Lukan is a Canadian rugby union player, who was named to Canada's first ever women's rugby sevens Olympic team at the 2016 Summer Olympics. In 2018, she was selected by the Canadian Olympic Committee and was sponsored to attend Smith School of Business MBA program at Queen's University. Lukan's younger sister Kaili Lukan also played basketball at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and is a current member of the Canada women's national rugby sevens team.

The Phoenix, led by head coach Kevin Borseth, in the fifth year of his current stint and 14th year overall at Green Bay, played their home games at the Kress Events Center and are members of the Horizon League. It was the 38th season of Green Bay women's basketball.
Bonzie Alexander Colson II is an American professional basketball player for Fenerbahçe of the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL) and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the University of Notre Dame.

The Phoenix, led by head coach Kevin Borseth, in the sixth year of his current stint and 15th year overall at Green Bay, played their home games at the Kress Events Center and were members of the Horizon League. It was the 39th season of Green Bay women's basketball. They finished the season 29–4, 16–2 in Horizon play to win the Horizon League regular and tournament titles to earn an automatic to the NCAA women's tournament. They lost to Minnesota in the first round.
Arike Ogunbowale is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, before being drafted by the Wings with the fifth overall pick of the 2019 WNBA draft. She was the Most Outstanding Player of Notre Dame's 2018 national title run, hitting game-winning baskets in both the semi-final and championship game. Arike Ogunbowale was named WNBA All Star MVP in 2021 and 2024.
Marina Mabrey is an American professional basketball player for the Connecticut Sun of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Mabrey was drafted in the second round by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2019 WNBA draft. She previously played with the United States women's national under-19 basketball team and the University of Notre Dame.
Jessica Lindstrom is an American professional basketball player for BC Castors Braine of the Belgian Women's Basketball League, having previously played for the Wisconsin GLO of the Global Women's Basketball Association and T71 Dudelange, and Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen. A standout at Superior High School that led the school to a state finals berth in 2014, Lindstrom played college basketball for the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay.
Mehryn Donegan Kraker is an American professional basketball player for the Bendigo Spirit of the Women's National Basketball League. She played college basketball for Green Bay before being drafted by the Washington Mystics in the third round of the 2017 WNBA draft. She has since played in Spain, Sweden, Australia, Germany, and in the Global Women's Basketball Association.
Sundance "Sunny" Wicks is an American collegiate basketball coach, currently men's head coach at the University of Wyoming. He has also been the head coach for Green Bay, an assistant at Wyoming, and two years as the head coach for the Missouri Western Men's Basketball Team. Wicks spent eleven years as an assistant at four different colleges, including Northern State, Colorado, Northern Illinois, and San Francisco. Between early coaching stints, Wicks launched the Arizona Power Basketball Academy and worked as a skill-instructor and director from 2011 to 2015. He has trained notable NBA pre-draft prospects at the Impact Basketball Academy in Las Vegas, and worked with athletes such as Kawhi Leonard, Marvin Bagley, Isaiah Thomas, Xavier Silas, and Alec Burks.
The 2019 Horizon League men's soccer tournament was the 32nd edition of the tournament. The tournament decided the Horizon League champion and guaranteed representative into the 2019 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament. The tournament began on November 11 and concluded on November 16, 2019.
The 2023–24 Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team represented the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Phoenix, led by Kevin Borseth in his 12th season in his second stint as head coach, and 20th overall, played their home games at the Kress Events Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin as members of the Horizon League. The leading scorer and the tournament MVP for the 2023-24 season was Natalie McNeal, with Jasmine Kondrakiewicz leading the team in blocks, and Maren Westin leading the Phoenix freshmen in all categories.
Noah Reynolds is an American college basketball player for the TCU Horned Frogs of the Big 12 Conference. He previously played for the Wyoming Cowboys and the Green Bay Phoenix.
