The Sweden women's national handball team is the national team of Sweden. It is governed by the Swedish Handball Federation and takes part in international handball competitions.
IFK Malmö Handboll is the handball department of the sports club IFK Malmö. The club's colours are yellow and white. The handball department was founded in 1933. They made their debut in the top division, at the time known as Allsvenskan, in 1942–43, but were relegated after one season. They returned to Allsvenskan in 1945–46, but were relegated again. They were promoted back to Allsvenskan in 1949 and lasted in the league for two seasons before once again being relegated. IFK Malmö returned to Allsvenskan for the 1953–54 season, finishing fourth in the league that season. They finished second in the league in 1956–57, making them Swedish Championship silver medallists. In the following two seasons they finished fourth and third, before being relegated in 1960. IFK Malmö were promoted to Allsvenskan again in 1969 and finished fifth, but were relegated in the following season. They returned to Allsvenskan after one season and reached the play-offs, which had been introduced to determine the Swedish champions, in 1972–73. They were eliminated by IF Saab in the semi-finals. IFK Malmö won the regular season in the following season, but lost against SoIK Hellas in the semi-finals. Two years later they again reached the playoffs, but were once again defeated in the semi-finals. They were relegated in 1976–77. They returned to the top division in 1988–89 and 2003–04, but were immediately relegated both times. IFK Malmö were promoted from the second division in 2007, but after that season the senior team merged with Malmö HP to form a new club named HK Malmö. IFK Malmö has since started a new senior team which in 2018–19 plays in Division 4, the sixth level.
H43 Lund is a handball team from Sweden. The club played in the Elitserien but after bankruptcy in 2014 they no longer exist. The youth club under the same name is a new club founded in 2015 under same short name The club was founded in 1943 in a school class in Lund. Their teacher Y. Wallmer helped the boys found the club at a local café. 13 years later the club was playing in Sweden's highest division. H43 Lund played in "allsvenskan" for 14 years 1956-1970 before they were relegated to the second division. After nine years they were back in the top division but now only for seven years. In 2000 H43 Lund was back in "Elitserien" and stayed there for 12 years. During 2012/13 H43 played one year in division 2 but then came back. Economic bankruptcy in 2014 ended the history of the club. Former it was called "Lunds handbollsklubb av år 1943" now it is "H43 Lunds handbollsklubb". The club had to start in the bottom again and now the men are playing at the 4th level and so do the ladies.

Borlänge HK is a handball club in Borlänge in Sweden, established in 1947. The club won the Swedish women's national championship in 1970, 1973 and 1978. The women's team played 11 seasons in the Swedish top division between 1971–1972 and 1995–1996. and the men's team played in the Swedish top division during the 1984–1985 season. After winning Division 2 during the previous season, the women's team have advanced to Div 1 North as of season 2020–2021. The men's team won div 2 in 2022, and advanced to div 1 North from season 2023–2024.
SoIK Hellas is a sports club in Stockholm, Sweden, established on 14 May 1899 as Pastorns gossar by Katarina Parish confirmation priest Ernst Klefbeck, before changing name to SoIK Hellas in 1912, also on the initiative of Ernst Klefbeck. Nowadays running bowling, track and field athletics, handball, swimming, orienteering, tennis, and water polo, the club earlier also ran soccer, table tennis, fencing, gymnastics, cross-country skiing, diving, ski orienteering, and squash. H 43 Lund withdrew during the season due to bankruptcy. IFK Kristianstad won the regular season and also won the playoffs to claim their fifth Swedish title.
Irsta HF were a Swedish handball club based in Västerås. The club was founded in 1965. They were promoted to the top division, at the time known as Elitserien, in 1989. In their debut season in the top-flight, they finished fourth and qualified for the playoffs. They were eliminated in the semifinals by HK Drott. In the following season, they finished second in the league and defeated Ystads IF in the semifinals. They lost the final series against HK Drott. They participated in the EHF Cup Winners' Cup in 1991–92, but were eliminated by RK Crvena zvezda in the round of 16. They continued to play in Elitserien until they were relegated in 1996, but never again reached the playoffs.
