Almondo Alfonzo Curry (born August 18, 1980) [1] is an American college football coach and former cornerback. He is the cornerbacks coach for North Carolina A&T State University, a position he has held since 2023. He played college football for Virginia. After going undrafted in the 2004 NFL Draft he signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He also played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

From 1999 to 2003, Curry played college football for Virginia as a cornerback. [2] [3]

Professional career

Montreal Alouettes

After going undrafted in the 2004 NFL Draft, Curry signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was named to the CFL All-Star team in 2004

Saskatchewan Roughriders

In 2006, Curry was traded to Saskatchewan Roughriders for quarterback, Nealon Greene. [4] [5] [6]

Coaching career

In 2008, Curry was hired as an assistant coach for Hampton High School.[ citation needed ]

In 2011, Curry was hired as the defensive coordinator for Heritage High School.[ citation needed ]

In 2012, Curry was hired as the defensive backs coach for Christopher Newport. [7]

In 2015, Curry was hired as the defensive backs coach for Virginia State. [8] He held the position until 2016.

In 2019, Curry was hired as a quality control coach and defensive analyst for William & Mary.[ citation needed ]

In 2020, Curry was hired as the cornerbacks coach for Maryville. [9]

In 2021, Curry was hired as the cornerbacks coach for Towson. [10]

In 2023, Curry was hired as the cornerbacks coach for North Carolina A&T. [11]

Personal life

In 2003, Curry was charged with assault and battery. He was acquitted in April 2003. [12]

Bryan Shepherd is an American college football coach and former cornerback. He is the cornerbacks coach for Montana State University, a position he has held since 2022. He played college football at North Dakota State University. Originally, he collegiately played for the University of Nebraska Omaha before transferring. The Washington Redskins signed him in 2014 after going unselected in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Andrew Lue is a retired Canadian football defensive back. In the CFL's Amateur Scouting Bureau final rankings, he was ranked tenth best of the players eligible in the 2014 CFL Draft. He was then drafted tenth overall by the Montreal Alouettes and signed with the team in May 2014. He was then traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on October 12, 2016. On February 14, 2017 hew signed a contract with the Edmonton Eskimos. He then signed a contract with the Ottawa Redblacks on February 15, 2018.

Maurice Fleming is an American college football and former cornerback. He is the defensive pass game coordinator and cornerbacks coach for Eastern Illinois University, a position he has held since 2024. He played college football at West Virginia, and was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL) as an undrafted free agent in 2017.

Ryan Carter is an American football coach and former cornerback, who is currently a defensive graduate assistant on the Oklahoma Sooners coaching staff. He played college football at Clemson, including as a starting cornerback on the Tigers’ 2016 national championship team. In 2018, he signed with the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League as an undrafted free agent out of college. From 2019–2021, he played cornerback for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). In 2022, he joined his former Clemson defensive coordinator and current Oklahoma head football coach Brent Venables' inaugural Sooners coaching staff as a defensive graduate assistant.
