The Alpinale Short Film Festival (German: Alpinale Kurzfilmfestival) is a film festival in Bludenz, Vorarlberg (Austria). The short film festival draws around 1,000 visitors to Bludenz. Every year, about 30 hand-picked international short films are screened. The best films are awarded the Golden Unicorn. [1] [2] [3]
From 1985 to 2002, the festival took place in Bludenz, and from 2003 to 2019 in Nenzing. In 2020, the festival will be held in Bludenz again. [4] The 35th Alpinale took place between 11 and 15 August 2020 under strict regulations to prevent infections with Covid-19. [5] [6] [7]
The film language of all short films at the Alpinale is played in the original sound. For foreign language films, subtitles are displayed, while some English films are only provided without subtitles. [8]
The upcoming 36th Alpinale will take place between 8 and 12 August 2023. [9]

Sportclub Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz or SW Bregenz, formerly SC Bregenz, is an association football club based in the town of Bregenz, Vorarlberg, Austria, that competes in Eliteliga Vorarlberg, one of the third tiers of the Austrian football league system. Founded in 1919, it is affiliated to the Vorarlberg Football Association. The team plays its home matches at ImmoAgentur Stadion, where it has been based since 1951. The club's history includes numerous promotions and relegations, and some spells of sustained success, including participation in the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2002 and 2004. The club went bankrupt in 2005 and was subsequently refounded.
Fußballclub Dornbirn 1913 is a professional association football club based in the town of Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Austria, that competes in the Austrian Football Second League, the second tier of the Austrian football league system. Founded in 1913, it is affiliated to the Vorarlberg Football Association. The team plays its home matches at Stadion Birkenwiese, where it has been based since 2019.
Bregenzer Festspiele is a performing arts festival which is held every July and August in Bregenz in Vorarlberg (Austria). It features a large floating stage which is situated on Lake Constance.
Der Atem des Himmels is an Austrian feature film. It was filmed in 2010. The Austrian musician and author Reinhold Bilgeri produced and directed the film, which is based on his 2005 historic novel of the same name. The events in the movie are based on the worst avalanche catastrophe in Alpine history.
The Vorarlberg Railway denotes a through line running through the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Its route is similar to the Rheintal/Walgau Autobahn from the border between Lindau and Hörbranz to Bludenz, where it connects to the Arlberg Railway. The entire route in Austria is owned and is operated up to Lindau-Insel by the Austrian Federal Railways.
The Poolbar Festival is an annual music and culture festival in the city of Feldkirch in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg. Between 20,000 and 25,000 visitors attend the festival each year.
Falco Luneau is an Austrian-Dutch singer-songwriter. He is best known for his 2006 participation in the Austrian version of American Idol, Starmania and his subsequent formation of the boyband “jetzt anders!” with several other participants, notably Tom Neuwirth, who in his Conchita Wurst persona won the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. After two hits in Austria, and their album Gut so reaching 9th on the Austrian charts, the band dissolved after just one year.

Lichtstadt Feldkirch is a light art festival in Feldkirch in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. It was first held in 2018. It is planned that the festival be held every two years.
Lindau-Reutin station is a junction station in the town of Lindau, where the Aeschach curve branches off from the Vorarlberg Railway (Lindau-Bregenz–Bludenz). It is also a border station with Austria. In the course of the reconstruction of the Lindau rail hub, which began in 2016, the rail facilities, which were last used only as a goods station, were expanded into Lindau's new long-distance train station, which went into operation in 2020. In contrast to the terminus station Lindau-Insel, which opened in 1854, the station in the most populous district Reutin is a through station on the mainland. A station for local passenger services opened at Lindau-Reutin as Lindau-Lokalbahnhof in 1876 and was known as Lindau-Ost from 1911 but the last passenger services to it ended in 1980. The station building is located on Bregenzer Straße, on a level with Berliner Platz.
The Brauerei Egg, Simma, Kohler GmbH & Co. KG is a brewery in Egg in Vorarlberg (Austria). It was established in 1894. The Egg Brauerei is the smallest private brewery in Vorarlberg.
The Bludenzer Tage zeitgemäßer Musik is an international festival of contemporary music that has been taking place in Bludenz, Vorarlberg (Austria) since 1988. The aim of the festival is "to make contemporary music audible in Bludenz".
Eleonore Gräfin von Schönborn was an Austrian politician. She and her family were expelled from Czechoslovakia in 1945, settling in Austria. She became the first woman to hold a procuriate in Vorarlberg, and to be elected to the Schruns municipal council. She was director of the Montafoner Heimatmuseum, and co-founded an association for care of senior citizens at their homes. Schönborn had four children, including Cardinal Christoph Schönborn and the actor Michael Schönborn. She received awards for her work for cultural and social improvements in the region, including the Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria.
