Altavista de Ramos

Altavista de Ramos is a town in the municipality of Ameca, Jalisco. The town's first inhabitants were from Mesa de Ramos, a nearby community atop a mesa. The population was 327 according to the 2020 census. [1]

Altavista is a planned community, having organized streets and plots. The community serves as a municipal agency for the Ameca municipality.

The prime families of Altavista include the Quirarte, Rea and the Ramos. Altavista is Spanish for "high-view", mainly because the town is located on the foothills of a mountain.

Mesa de Ramos is a rural community, municipal agency and ejido located in the southeastern portion of the municipality of Ameca, Jalisco, in Mexico. It has suffered depopulation, primarily because of the lack of resources and isolation. In 1900, the town was recorded as Mesa de los Ramos, and had 289 inhabitants. In the 2005 census there were only 40, and in 2010 there were 13.

The Núcleo Deportivo y de Espectáculos Ameca is a multi-use stadium located in Ameca, Jalisco, Mexico. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium for Catedráticos Élite F.C. The stadium has a capacity of 7,000 people.
