Altenstadt is a district of Feldkirch, a city in the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Other districts of Feldkirch are Gisingen, Levis, Nofels, Tisis and Tosters.
In Altenstadt is the biggest and most important school of Feldkirch.
The church was removed in the 1960s.[ clarification needed ] Next to the church is a big abbey.
Altenstadt railway station is an intermediate stop on the Feldkirch–Buchs railway line to Liechtenstein and Switzerland. The station is served irregularly by the S2 service of Vorarlberg S-Bahn.
In the East of Altenstadt is the 751 m (2,464 ft) high hill Amberg. South of it is the 631 m (2,070 ft) high Ardetzenberg.

The Vorarlberg Railway denotes a railway line running in north-south direction through the Austrian state of Vorarlberg and extending to Lindau (Germany). Its route is similar to the Rheintal/Walgau Autobahn, from Lindau to the border and to Bludenz, where it connects to the Arlberg Railway and Bludenz–Schruns railway (Montafonerbahn) lines.
