Alttoggenburg District (German : Bezirk Alttoggenburg) is a former district of the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. The district existed from its formation in 1831 until the canton's 14 districts (German : Bezirke) were reorganized into 8 constituencies (Wahlkreise) on January 1, 2003. When the district was formed, it was split apart from Untertoggenburg. Today, the area is within the constituency of Toggenburg.
Alttoggenburg contained four communities. Of these, Kirchberg, Lütisburg, and Mosnang remain organized municipalities, while Bütschwil was merged with a neighboring community in 2013 to form Bütschwil-Ganterschwil.

The Wil–Ebnat-Kappel railway is a single-track standard-gauge line that runs through the Toggenburg region of Switzerland. It was built by the Toggenburgerbahn. Its 25 kilometre-long, standard gauge line from Wil via Wattwil to Ebnat-Kappel was opened on 24 June 1870. The TB was nationalised as of 1 July 1902 and became part of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB).
Bütschwil railway station is a railway station in Bütschwil-Ganterschwil, in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. It is an intermediate stop on the Wil–Ebnat-Kappel line and is served by local trains only.
