Ama Louisa John (born 9 May 1998) [1] known professionally as Ama Lou or simply Ama, [2] is an English singer-songwriter born and raised in London, United Kingdom. She is classically trained as a singer and began writing music at the age of 11. [3]
Ama was born in north London, England to a Guyanese father and English mother. [1]
Ama supported Jorja Smith during her 2018 tour. [4] She received media attention after Drake captioned an Instagram post with lyrics from her song "TBC". [5] [6] Drake also stated that Lou was one of the main influences for his album Scorpion. [7]
