Amanda Davied (born March 18, 1981) is the head women's basketball coach and former player at Pittsburg State University. Prior to becoming head coach in May 2018, Davied was an assistant coach for the Pittsburg State women's basketball team since her graduation in December 2003. [2]

Career

Early career

Davied, a Farlington, Kansas, native, began her coaching career as a graduate assistant for her alma mater following her playing career in 2003. [3] During her time as a player, Davied scored nearly 1300 points in four years, landing her in ninth place for scoring in Pittsburg State history. [4] She holds several other records in the program.

Pittsburg State University

In 2003, Davied served as a graduate assistant before being promoted to a full-time assistant at the end of the season. [5] During her time as an assistant coach, Davied helped lead the Gorillas to one regular season conference championship, five trips to the NCAA Tournament, and was the primary recruiting coordinator for the program. [6]

On May 21, 2018, Davied was named the sixth head coacher Pittsburg State, after Lane Lord left for Texas–Rio Grande Valley. [7]

Keith Kim Anderson is a retired American basketball coach and most recently was head coach for the Pittsburg State Gorillas. Anderson previously served as the men's basketball head coach of the Missouri Tigers. He led the Central Missouri Mules to back-to-back MIAA championships and three appearances in the NCAA Division II Final Four in 2007, 2009 and winning the championship in 2014. He led the Mules to the NCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship in 2014 by defeating West Liberty 84–77. He played collegiately for the University of Missouri.

Charles Leroy Broyles is a former American football coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Pittsburg State University from 1990 to 2009, compiling a record of 198–47–2 in 20 seasons. His Pittsburg State Gorillas football teams won the NCAA Division II Football Championship in 1991, appeared three other championship games, and captured nine Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association titles. Broyles retired from coaching at Pittsburg State effective December 2, 2009.

Clarence Eugene Iba is a former American college basketball coach. He was previously the Pittsburg State Gorillas men's basketball coach until 2010. He was head coach at Houston Baptist from 1977 to 1985, Baylor from 1985 to 1992, and Pittsburg State from 1995 to 2010. He is the son of college basketball coach Clarence Iba and nephew of college basketball coach Hank Iba.

The Pittsburg State Gorillas football team represents Pittsburg State University in collegiate level football. The Pittsburg State football team was formed in 1908, competes in NCAA Division II and is affiliated with the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). The Gorillas play their home games at Carnie Smith Stadium, more commonly referred to as "The Jungle", in Pittsburg, Kansas. Pittsburg State has won more games than any other program in NCAA Division II history. He led the 2011 Pittsburg State Gorillas football team to the NCAA Division II Football Championship. Beck played college football at Pittsburg State from 1985 to 1986 and was an assistant coach with the program from 1987 to 2009.

Lane R. Lord is an American college women's basketball coach currently coaching at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He was previously the head coach at Pittsburg State University, a position he held from 2007 to 2018. While Lord was at Pittsburg State, the program won a conference regular season championships and appeared in four NCAA tournaments. Prior to his most recent post, Lord was the head coach for at Barton Community College from 2004 to 2007, where he led the school to three consecutive winning seasons, and one Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference West Division co-regular season championship. Lord also taught and coached at Wichita Heights High School from 1995 to 2004.

Steve High is an American former women's basketball coach. Prior to retirement, High served as the head coach for the Dodge City Conquistadors women's basketball program from 2007 to 2011, and before that was the head coach at Pittsburg State University from 1989 to 2007.

John F. Lance was an American football and college basketball coach. He served as the head football coach at Southwestern Oklahoma State University from 1918 to 1921.

Nelson D. Haggerty was an American basketball coach and college basketball player. He had been serving as an assistant coach for the North Texas Mean Green at the time of his death. He played for the Baylor Bears, staying four years; in 1994–95 he led the NCAA Division I in assists, averaging 10.1 per game. He is the all-time leader for career assists for Baylor with 699.
