The American Stamp Dealers Association (ASDA) is an international philatelic organization of stamp dealers.
ASDA was founded in 1914 [1] as an association “dedicated to promoting integrity, honesty and reliability, and we are the hobby builders of philately.” The ASDA is structured similarly to other philatelic organizations, with a president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, board of directors, general counsel, and various committees and regional chapters. It is located at 217-14 Northern Blvd., Suite 205, Bayside, New York 11361.
Membership is open to all dealers and sellers of postage stamps and revenue stamps who agree to abide by the rules and regulations of ASDA. Several benefits of membership are: use of the ASDA logo, attending ASDA stamp shows which are held several times a year, receiving a membership directory and a subscription to the ASDA magazine.
The ASDA publishes a magazine entitled The American Stamp Dealer & Collector.
Members are required to abide by a Code of Conduct which requires, among other things, to abide by the ASDA constitution, to abide by all federal and local laws, to not buy or sell material which might be stolen, to correctly identify condition and grade of material, to clearly display terms of sale, to honor buying prices, to not produce or sell counterfeit material, and to submit disputes to arbitration.
In addition to providing membership to a valuable logo and reputation, the ASDA also provides members with an auction calendars, show calendars, and other information useful to the dealer of stamps.

Philately involves more than just stamp collecting or the study of postage; it is possible to be a philatelist without owning any stamps. For instance, the stamps being studied may be very rare or reside only in museums.

The American Topical Association (ATA) is a US-based philatelic society and the largest organization devoted to topical stamp collecting. It was established in 1949 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by Jerome (Jerry) Husak. It currently serves members in over 60 countries. ATA publishes Topical Time, its bimonthly journal. It also publishes numerous handbooks and maintains many checklists listing hundreds of stamps by topic. The organization runs the National Topical Stamp Show as well as supporting 50+ study units on various topics and 40+ local chapters.
A floor trader is a member of a stock or commodities exchange who trades on the floor of that exchange for his or her own account. The floor trader must abide by trading rules similar to those of the exchange specialists who trade on behalf of others. The term should not be confused with floor broker. Floor traders are occasionally referred to as registered competitive traders, individual liquidity providers or locals.
The United States Stamp Society (USSS) is the largest philatelic organization dedicated to the research and study of United States postage and revenue stamps. The Society is a non-profit collector-based organization with a world-wide membership of over 1700. The USSS is Affiliate #150 of the American Philatelic Society (APS). Since 1930 the Society has encouraged philatelic study through voluntary membership in specialized committees. Some committees specialize in specific stamp issues like the Washington-Franklin heads, the Prexie or the Liberty Series, while other committees study specialized areas of U.S. philately such as Plate Numbers and Marginal Markings, Private Vending and Affixing Perforations, Booklets and Panes, and Luminescence. Research is made available through published books, research papers and articles in the monthly journal, The United States Specialist.
George Ward Linn, of Ohio, was a philatelist who published philatelic literature extensively and was the founder of Linn's Weekly Stamp News in 1928, the philatelic journal for which he is most famous.
Peter G. Keller, of New York, was a stamp dealer who, along with his wife Helen Van Zilen Keller, helped develop the organization of stamp dealers in the United States.
Philip Mathias Wolsieffer, of Chicago and Philadelphia, was a stamp dealer and auctioneer who sold stamps and philatelic items during the early years of stamp collecting.
Patricia A. (Trish) Kaufmann of Lincoln, Delaware, is an expert on the postage stamps and postal history of the Confederate States of America (CSA), and has written hundreds of articles on the subject; she is known as a diligent researcher who brings postal history to life. She is also a speaker on the subject.
Eugene N. Costales, of New York City, was a noted stamp dealer, auctioneer, and expert on authenticity of rare stamps and antiquities.
The Rossica Society of Russian Philately is a society founded for the study and appreciation of the postage stamps and postal history of Russia.
Ezra Danolds Cole, of Nyack, New York, was well known stamp dealer who was named to the Hall of Fame of the American Philatelic Society.
The Philatelic Traders' Society Ltd. (PTS) is a trade association for stamp dealers and philatelic traders which was established in Britain in 1929 and continues to this day.
The Revenue Society was formed in 1990 and is the only international philatelic society which covers revenue stamps of the whole world. The society is also noted for the particularly high quality of its journal which has published many articles on subjects about which little or nothing has previously been written.
The Christmas Seal & Charity Stamp Society is a non-profit philatelic organization devoted to collecting Christmas seals, charity labels, fundraising seals, charity stamps and semi-postal postage stamps where part of the cost of the stamp goes to charity. The society was founded in 1931 by W.L. Kinkead, a stamp collector and president of the New Jersey Tuberculosis League.
The Comic Book Collecting Association, or CBCA, is an organization dedicated to promoting the hobby of comic book collecting. Its membership is composed of collectors, dealers, and other comic book enthusiasts. It is modeled after other hobbyist organizations such as the American Philatelic Society and the Universal Autograph Collectors Club. The CBCA is a not-for-profit corporation registered in the State of California.
World Stamp Show-NY 2016 was the United States' once-a-decade international celebration of stamp collecting. It took place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York from May 28 to June 4, 2016. This was the first international stamp show to be held in New York since FIPEX in 1956.
