The American University in the Emirates (AUE) is a private university in Dubai International Academic City in the United Arab Emirates. [4] The university was founded in 2006.

AUE is located at the Dubai International Academic City. The American University in the Emirates is located at Block 6 & 7. Dubai International Academic City.

Academics

The AUE offers academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to these, the university offers language courses for TOEFL, IELTS, ELI and other professional training programs for the business world.[ citation needed ]

There are seven colleges offering bachelor's and master's degrees:

Undergraduate programs

The university undergraduate programs through seven colleges. The College of Educations provides academic services for all other colleges by offering general education courses.

In addition to undergraduate programs, the university offers four master's degree programs.

Accreditation and approvals

AUE is an approved university by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research [5] and is licensed by the Commission for Academic Accreditation to offer various undergraduate as well as graduate programs where students can earn bachelor's and master's degrees. The Bachelor of Computer Science in the College of Computer Information Technology is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET: [6]

Rochester Institute of Technology of Dubai is a satellite campus of Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, USA, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The college is located in the Dubai Silicon Oasis and started offering part-time graduate courses in Fall 2008. In 2009, the university began its full-time graduate program. RIT Dubai's first graduating class was in 2010, with the graduation ceremony taking place in Rochester, NY. In 2010, a full-time undergraduate program was started as part of the university's planned expansion. In the fall of 2011, RIT Dubai moved its campus to a new premises to accommodate the growing student body. By 2019, RIT plans to expand the campus to 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m2) to provide facilities for 4,000 students.

Provision of education in the UAE began shortly after the establishment of the federation with the inception of the first university in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates University. Since then, the country has progressed with efforts of ensuring high literacy rates, modern programs and women's share in education. It works on improving its youths education which is why the agenda 2021 has been set. The UAE currently devotes approximately 25 percent of total federal government spending to education. As of 2019, the overall literacy rate is 96%.

Webster University Thailand (WUT) is an international campus of Webster University from Webster Groves, Missouri, US. The US-based non-profit university established its international campus in Thailand in 1999 with an undergraduate campus near the resort town of Hua Hin in the district of Cha-am, and additional graduate and undergraduate programs in Bangkok, Thailand. The facility in Thailand is one of several international campuses associated with Webster University. The campus officially closed on December 31, 2021.

The University of Dubai (UD) (Arabic: جامعة دبي) is a private university in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Established in 1997, it is licensed nationally by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It became the first private University in Dubai to hold the AACSB international accreditation in 2009, maintaining for further 5 years till 2019, as well as the first private university in the UAE to hold the ABET-CAC accreditation for its Computing and Information Systems (BS) program in 2006. The curriculum is aligned with international professional certification bodies such as Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM)-UK, which awards BBA HRM and MBA Leadership and HRM graduates with level 5 and 7 certifications. Similarly, the curriculum is aligned with Islamic Economy, Smart City, Innovation and Entrepreneurship initiatives of the government with IBM partnership.

The College of Science, Mathematics, and Technology was the science college of the former (1992-2015) University of Texas at Brownsville. It consisted of six academic departments at the time. The six departments employed diverse faculty members - many of whom are leading experts in the fields - who have received funding from a variety of funding agencies, including the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Education, and the Department of Defense, among others. The average active ongoing external funding is about 25-30 million dollars. In 2002, the Center for Gravitational Wave Astronomy (CGWA) research center was founded to help "develop excellence in research and education in areas related to gravitational wave astronomy."

<span class="mw-page-title-main">National University (California)</span> Private university in the United States

National University is a private university with its headquarters in San Diego, California. Founded in 1971, National University offers academic degree programs at campuses throughout California, a satellite campus in Nevada, and various programs online. Programs at National University are designed for adult learners. On-campus classes are typically blended learning courses, concentrated to four weeks or on weeknights with occasional Saturday classes. The university uses asynchronous learning and real-time virtual classrooms for its online programs.
