Amigo and Friends (also known in Spanish as Cantinflas y Sus Amigos) is an educational children's animated television series that was based on the Mexican cartoon series Cantinflashow in 1979. [1] The show, which concentrates on a wide range of subjects intended to educate children, follows Amigo, a little comical character from Mexico, who goes on educational adventures through time and space and gets to visit Shakespeare, see the ancient pyramids, and even travels to other planets. The animated Amigo is based on the legendary character, Cantinflas played by the Mexican actor and comedian Mario Moreno Reyes.

The show was created and produced by Televisa. The company was also responsible for the distribution of the show in Mexico.

In 1982, Hanna-Barbera Productions dubbed the series into English and retitled it Amigo and Friends and aired in syndication across the United States through Viacom Enterprises. [2] The only two known actors were John Stephenson, who narrates each episode and Don Messick, who voiced Amigo.

Sometime in the 1980s, a couple of episodes were released on video by Family Home Entertainment. In 2004, BCI released some of the shorts as part of the Cantinflas Show collection.

<i>Yoko</i> (TV series) TV series or program

Yoko is a 3D animated adventure children's education television series that released in 2015. The target audience is preschool. The first season contains 52 episodes. Spanish companies Somuga based in Andoain and Dibulitoon Studio based in Irún with RTVE along with Wizart Animation from Russia were the animation studios who produced the animated series. Yoko is the first Russian-Spanish animated co-production in the history of animation. The story is written by Juanjo Elordi, Edorta Barruetabeña, P. Kevin Strader and Andy Yerkes. Yoko features a multilingual adaptation of the magical adventures of the character Yoko. Juanjo Elordi and Rishat Gilmetdinov directed the episodes. The idea was conceptualized by Juanjo Elordi from the Basque Country.

Univision y Los Niños is a former American children's programming block that airs on the Spanish-language television network Univision which premiered on June 26, 1989, to September 15, 1990. The two-hour block—which airs Monday to Friday and Saturday morning cartoon from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. ET/PT—features the network was in partnership with DIC Entertainment including animated series aimed at children between the ages of 2 and 14. It was the network's attempt to have a Saturday morning block.

La Piñata Loca is an American children's programming block on Spanish language television network Univision, which debuted on March 30, 1996, and aired until February 26, 2000. The three-hour block aired Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time and Pacific Time and features animated series aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 11.
