The Ampersand Network was a not-for-profit organisation, committed to improving the appeal and accessibility of volunteering for young people in Australia. [1]
Ampersand was founded on the belief that exposing young people to social and environmental need will produce a more broad-minded and socially engaged generation of leaders than might otherwise emerge.
Since its launch in 2005, [2] the Ampersand Network has provided access to over 5,000 volunteer opportunities Australia wide, and hundreds more with international development agencies abroad, such as Australian Volunteers International, Students Partnership Worldwide and Global Vision International. [3]
Each year, the Ampersand Walk [4] gives young Australians the opportunity to 'volunteer their feet' for not-for-profit organisations with a proven track record in utilising young volunteers. [5] In 2007, Ampersand partnered with yconnect? to promote the Walk and raise funds for the Australian Red Cross. [6]

Two of its directors were Victorian finalists in the Young Australian of the Year. [8] [9]
In 2004, the network was applauded for its work in The Australian Senate. [10] In 2005, it was the recipient of an Anti-Poverty Award for Young Victorians. [11]

Robert John Maguire is an Australian Roman Catholic priest, community worker and media personality from South Melbourne. From 1973 to 2012, Maguire was parish priest of Sts Peter and Paul's Church in South Melbourne. Student Youth Network Inc., operating as SYN Media, is an Australian youth-run not-for-profit organisation providing media training and broadcasting opportunities for young people. Commonly referred to as SYN, the organisation produces new and independent media that is made by and for young people in Melbourne. Founded in 2000, today volunteers – all aged 12–25 years of age – produce a radio station broadcast on FM radio and DAB+ digital radio, as well as content for television, print and online. A 2006 McNair listener survey showed a similar age group, 15–24, as the largest age group listening to community radio in Australia.

The Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) is a youth organisation in Australia. When the organisation first began, the coalition consisted of 25 other youth organisations, which included the National Union of Students amongst many, however it is now an independent organisation. The organisation aims "to build a movement of young people leading solutions to the climate crisis". They state that this is achieved through empowering and education, running strategic campaigns that win, shifting the narrative, and building a movement. AYCC works closely with Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network.
