Amy Shiels (born 21 February 1991)[ citation needed ] is an Irish film and television actress who has appeared in the films Veronica Guerin , Slaughter , Twin Peaks , and as Lunafreya Nox Fleuret in Final Fantasy XV .

Early life and family

Shiels was born in 1991 in Dublin, the seventh child in a large family. [1] She was the cousin of actor Karl Shiels. [2]

Career

Shiels worked in the troupe of the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin for three years and began to appear in Irish and British television series. [1] Her debut in a big movie was a role in the film Veronica Guerin with Cate Blanchett in the lead role. [1] She performed a number of roles in films of independent American filmmakers: in 2009 she played in the movie Slaughter , in 2012 she performed a role in the film Citadel . [1]

Since 2012, she began to voice the characters of video games, including: Call of Duty: Black Ops III , Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare , Final Fantasy XV , [1] and Divinity: Dragon Commander . In 2014, she moved to live in Los Angeles to further develop her acting career.

In 2015, she was cast in Twin Peaks: The Return . [3]

Veronica Guerin Turley was an Irish investigative journalist focusing on organized crime in the Republic of Ireland, who was murdered in a contract killing believed to have been ordered by a South Dublin-based drug cartel. Born in Dublin, she was an athlete in school and later played on the Irish national teams for both Association football and basketball. After studying accountancy she ran a public-relations firm for seven years, before working for Fianna Fáil and as an election agent for Seán Haughey. She became a reporter in 1990, writing for the Sunday Business Post and Sunday Tribune. In 1994 she began writing articles about the Irish criminal underworld for the Sunday Independent. In 1996, after pressing charges for assault against major organised crime figure John Gilligan, Guerin was ambushed and fatally shot in her vehicle while waiting at a traffic light. The shooting caused national outrage in Ireland. Investigation into her death led to a number of arrests and convictions.

Veronica Guerin is a 2003 biographical crime film directed by Joel Schumacher and starring Cate Blanchett in the title role. The screenplay by Carol Doyle and Mary Agnes Donoghue focuses on Irish journalist Veronica Guerin, whose investigation into the drug trade in Dublin led to her murder in 1996, at the age of 37. The film is the second to be inspired by Guerin's life, following When the Sky Falls (2000).
