Amy Truesdale (born 20 January 1989) is a taekwondo practitioner who won a gold medal at the 2024 Summer Paralympics.

Career

Truesdale was born without a left hand or forearm. [3] She has been a competitor in Para Taekwondo since 2009. [4]

She won gold at the 2014 and 2017 Para Taekwondo World Championships [5] and bronze in the women's +58 kg event at the delayed 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan. [6]

Truesdale won gold at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France, defeating Uzbekistan's Guljonoy Naimova in the final of the K44 +65kg category. [7]

She has also represented Wales at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Commonwealth Games winning gold in the F38 Long Jump in 2018 and gold in the T37/38 100m in 2022.

Maisie Summers-Newton is a British Paralympic swimmer, competing in S6 disability events. In August 2018, she took gold in the IPC Swimming European Championships SM6 200m individual medley and set a new world record at 2:59.60. Nurlan Dombayev is a Kazakhstani para-taekwondo practitioner who competes in the F44 classification. Having competed in the -75 and later -80 kg category, he is a gold medalist at the 2017 and 2019 World Para Taekwondo Championships, and a bronze medalist at the 2021 European Para Taekwondo Championships and 2022 Asian Para Games.
