Ana Cagi Moi

Ana Cagi Moi (born 1998) is a New Zealand based Fijian netball player who plays centre and wing defence. She represented Fiji at the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup in Gaborone, Botswana and the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa.

Early life and education

Moi is from Vanualevu in Fiji's Cakaudrove Province. She grew up in Auckland, New Zealand [1] and attended Mount Albert Grammar School. [2] As of October 2023, she was attending Massey University. In 2023, she was one of 151 students who received the university's Blues Award, which recognizes students who excel in academics and athletics. [3]

Career

In 2017, Moi was selected for Fiji's under-21 netball team and played at the Netball World Youth Cup, placing fourth. [1] [4] She was added to the Fiji Pearls extended squad in August of that year. [5]

In 2019, Moi was selected to represent Fiji at the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool, England; [6] the team came in 14th overall.

In April 2023, she was selected to represent Fiji for the Pacific Aus Sports Series in Gold Coast, Australia.[ citation needed ] She was later selected in the team for the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa. [7]

The Fiji National Netball Team better known at the Fiji Pearls represents Fiji in international netball competition. Fiji have competed at nine World Netball Championships, finishing sixth in their best placing at the 1999 tournament. They have also competed at two Commonwealth Games, and won the netball event at the South Pacific Games for a number of years. They have won gold at every games since 1991. They are also the current Pacific Champions, winning the all Pacific Series since its inception.

Cathrine Tuivaiti, originally known as Cathrine Latu, is a netball international who has played for Samoa, New Zealand and Tonga. The Netball World Youth Cup Gaborone 2017 was the eighth staging of the tournament previously known as the World Youth Netball Championships, the premier competition in international netball, contested every four years. The 2017 tournament, to be held from 8–16 July, held in Gaborone, Botswana, which is first African region country to host the tournament. Matches are to be played at University of Botswana Indoor Stadium and Ditshupo Hall. Twenty nations competed at the championships.

Maia Wilson is a New Zealand netball international. She was a member of the New Zealand teams that won the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup and the 2021 Constellation Cup. She also represented New Zealand at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Wilson made her senior league debut with Central Pulse during the 2016 ANZ Championship season. Since 2017, she has played for Northern Stars in the ANZ Premiership. In both 2018 and 2019, she was the ANZ Premiership top goal scorer. Wilson was a prominent member of the 2019 and 2022 Northern Stars teams that were ANZ Premiership grand finalists. Ahead of the 2021 season, she was appointed Stars captain. Wilson is also a former New Zealand women's basketball international.

Between 2015 and 2021, Pedersen played for Mainland Tactix. In both 2020 and 2021, she was a prominent member of the Tactix teams that finished as ANZ Premiership runners up and grand finalists. In 2022 she was a member of the Central Pulse team that were ANZ Premiership champions. As a result, between 2020 and 2022, Pedersen played in three successive ANZ Premiership grand finals.

Vaiti Waqatabu is a Fijian netball and rugby player who has captained the Fiji national netball team.

Jimaima Kete is a Fijian netball player who plays as a goal attack. She has represented Fiji internationally as part of the Fiji national netball team.
