Ana Cardus (born 8 May 1943) is a Mexican former ballerina and ballet master.

Ana Cardus was born on 8 May 1943 in Mexico City. [1]

Until 1960, Cardus danced with Serge Unger's Ballet Concierto de Mexico in Mexico City. [1]

From 1963, she danced with Stuttgart Ballet in Germany, and created roles in John Cranko's l'Estro Armonico (1963), Onegin (1965), The Interrogation (1967), and Quatre Images (1967), and in Kenneth Macmillan's Song of the Earth (1965). [1] [2] She latter danced with Hanover State Opera, where she was also the ballet master. [1]

Margot Fonteyn English ballerina

Margaret Evelyn de Arias DBE, born Margaret Evelyn Hookham, known by the stage name Margot Fonteyn, was an English ballerina. She spent her entire career as a dancer with the Royal Ballet, eventually being appointed prima ballerina assoluta of the company by Queen Elizabeth II. Beginning ballet lessons at the age of four, she studied in England and China, where her father was transferred for his work. Her training in Shanghai was with George Goncharov, contributing to her continuing interest in Russian ballet. Returning to London at the age of 14, she was invited to join the Vic-Wells Ballet School by Ninette de Valois. She succeeded Alicia Markova as prima ballerina of the company in 1935. The Vic-Wells choreographer, Sir Frederick Ashton, wrote numerous parts for Fonteyn and her partner, Robert Helpmann, with whom she danced from the 1930s to the 1940s.

La hija de Cólquide is a ballet score composed by Carlos Chávez in 1943–44 on commission from the Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge Foundation for Martha Graham. The title refers to the mythological character Medea, daughter of King Aeëtes of Colchis, in the story of Jason and the Golden Fleece. The ballet spawned several subsidiary works in Chávez's catalog including his Third String Quartet. Teresa Mann was a Panamanian ballerina, ballet teacher and dance pioneer. She was a founding member of the Ballet Nacional de Panama and its lead dancer until 1983. She was also the founding director of the Escuela de Danzas Teresa Mann and the Ballet de Teresa Mann in Panama.
