Ana Mercedes Aponte Merchan is a Venezuelan politician,deputy of the National Assembly for the Vargas state.
Vera has served as secretary of the Education Workers Union of Vargas (Sitravargas). [1] She was elected as alternate deputy in the National Assembly for the Vargas state for the 2016–2021 term in the 2015 parliamentary elections. [2]
On 16 November 16,2020,security officers raided her house in Vargas state. Deputy Sandra Flores de Garzón declared that the officers broke the locks of the house and threw the door to the ground,and Mercedes Aponte said that the officers did not have a search warrant for the raid,arguing that they were orders from Nicolás Maduro. [3]

The 2017 Venezuelan protests began in late January following the abandonment of Vatican-backed dialogue between the Bolivarian government and the opposition. The series of protests originally began in February 2014 when hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans protested due to high levels of criminal violence,inflation,and chronic scarcity of basic goods because of policies created by the Venezuelan government though the size of protests had decreased since 2014. Following the 2017 Venezuelan constitutional crisis,protests began to increase greatly throughout Venezuela.

The Pemon conflict is an ongoing conflict which is a part of the wider Crisis in Venezuela. The conflict is centered around mining disputes between the Maduro government,the Pemon nation and armed irregular groups. The Pemon nation is divided by the border between Venezuela and Brazil,resulting in Pemon refugees regularly crossing the border into Brazil for safety and medical care. The conflict is centred on disputes over mining in the Orinoco Mining Arc,a 112,000 km2 area of the Amazon Rainforest rich in gold,diamonds,coltan,and uranium,which are also home to the Pemon people.

Cliver Antonio AlcaláCordones,is a retired Venezuelan major general and a member of the Bolivarian Army. Alcaláwas one of the soldiers who participated in the attempted coup d'état against President Carlos Andrés Pérez in February 1992,and served as chief of garrison in the cities of both Valencia and Maracay,and finally as general commander of the Integral Defense Region in Guayana (REDI-Guayana). AlcaláCordones was discharged from the Army on 5 July 2013 during the presidency of Nicolás Maduro.
This is the list of members elected in the 2017 Constituent National Assembly of Venezuela following the 30 July 2017 elections. The first session of the assembly began on 4 August 2017 in the Oval Room of the Palacio Federal Legislativo. The Democratic Unity Roundtable—the opposition to the incumbent ruling party—also boycotted the election claiming that the Constituent Assembly was "a trick to keep [the incumbent ruling party] in power." Since the opposition did not participate in the election,the incumbent Great Patriotic Pole,dominated by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela,won almost all seats in the assembly by default.
