Anand Krishnamoorthi is a National Award winning Indian film sound designer, sound editor and production sound mixer.
Anand first appeared in Mani Ratnam's film Anjali [1] and later made appearances in several other films, notably May Madham, Sathi Leelavathi, Aasai, Thalapathi and several Tamil TV Serials till 1995. [2]
Anand obtained a BSc in Visual Communication from the Loyola College, Chennai and a MSc in Electronic Media from the Anna University, Chennai. He later obtained an MA in Film and Television Production from the University of Bristol in 2005. [3]
Krishnamoorthi assisted Tamil Film Director Balu Mahendra from 2001-2002. [1] After his M.A., Krishnamoorthi also worked as a Sound Trainee with the British Broadcasting Corporation from 2005-2006. [1]
Krishnamoorthi reentered mainstream Tamil Cinema as a Production Mixer for Marmayogi which was later shelved after pre production in 2008. He then handled Dialogue Editing and Sound for Unnaipol Oruvan (transl. Someone Like You) [4] in 2009 wherein he also made a brief appearance on screen as an IIT dropout turned hacker.
Krishnamoorthi was the Supervising Sound Editor on Vishwaroopam, directed by Kamal Haasan, which was produced in Auro 3D format. [5] He later led the ADR for the popular film Kalyana Samayal Saadham. He co-directed On a Quest, [6] a film produced by the Chinmaya Mission on the life of Chinmayananda Saraswati.
Since 2015, he has led the sound design of Madras Talkies projects starting with O Kadal Kanmani, [7] Kaatru Veliyidai, [8] Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, [9] the Payasam: Bheebatsa segment of the anthology Navarasa. In 2017, he was the sound designer for AR Murugadoss's action thriller Spyder and 2018, led the sound design on Director Vasanth's Sivaranjaniyum Innum Sila Pengalum which was notable for having no background score and reliant entirely upon sound design and effects. [10] Notably, Krishnamoorthi was the Sound Designer of both films of the blockbuster series Ponniyin Selvan and will also serve as sound designer on the upcoming Thug Life.
Since 2020, Anand has been editing the podcast "The Moving Curve", [11] hosted by Rukmini S, a data journalist based in Chennai, on COVID-19 related data in India. In 2020 this podcast was awarded the Emergent Ventures Covid-19 India Prize by Marginal Revolution. [12]
In August 2024, it was announced that Anand had received the National Award [13] for Sound Designing for Ponniyin Selvan Part 1. [14]

Gopalaratnam Subramaniam, known professionally as Mani Ratnam, is an Indian film director, film producer and screenwriter who predominantly works in Tamil cinema and few Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. He is one of India's most acclaimed and commercially successful filmmakers. Ratnam has won seven National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards, six Filmfare Awards South, and numerous awards at various film festivals across the world. In 2002, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, acknowledging his contributions to film.
Vairamuthu Ramasamy is an Indian lyricist, poet, and novelist working in the Tamil film industry. He is a prominent figure in the Tamil literary world. A master's graduate from the Pachaiyappa's College in Chennai, he first worked as a translator, while also being a published poet. He entered the Tamil film industry in the year 1980, with the film Nizhalgal, an Ilaiyaraaja musical, directed by Bharathiraja. During the course of his 40-year film career, he has written over 7,500 songs and poems which have won him seven National Awards, the most for any Indian lyricist. He has also been honored with a Padma Shri, a Padma Bhushan and a Sahitya Akademi Award, for his abundant literary output.

Madras Talkies has actively involved in production of films and television serials, which are distributed all over the world. The company has produced fifteen feature films and six television serials.

S. Ravi Varman is an Indian cinematographer, filmmaker, producer and writer. He predominantly works in Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi film industries. Varman began his career in Malayalam cinema. The Tamil Filmfare Best Female Playback Award is given by Filmfare magazine as part of its annual Filmfare Awards for Tamil films. The first Tamil award was given in 2006. However, since 1997 till 2005, a common award for playback was available for both male and female singers of all the four South Indian languages.

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language crime drama film directed by Mani Ratnam, co-written with Siva Ananth. Produced by Mani Ratnam under the banner Madras Talkies, along with Lyca Productions, the film features an ensemble cast including Aravind Swami, Arun Vijay, Silambarasan and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles along with Prakash Raj, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Dayana Erappa, Jayasudha, Thyagarajan and Mansoor Ali Khan.
Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is the soundtrack album, composed by A. R. Rahman with song lyrics by Vairamuthu to the 2018 Tamil film of the same name. The film is directed by Mani Ratnam.
Vaanam Kottattum is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Dhana, who co-wrote the film with Mani Ratnam. The film has an ensemble cast of R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Radhika Sarathkumar and Aishwarya Rajesh with an ensemble supporting cast. The film is produced by Mani Ratnam for Madras Talkies, with the latter also credited for co-writing the film's script. The film released on 7 February 2020.
Eka Lakhani is an Indian fashion costume designer, who has worked in the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu film industries. After beginning her career as an intern on the sets of Raavan (2010), she has become director Mani Ratnam's costume designer for his films since 2013. She has also worked in projects by directors Rajkumar Hirani, Karan Johar and Gautham Menon.
