Andrew Mwadime is a Kenyan politician and current governor of Taita Taveta County. He was a member of Kenyan National assembly before being elected governor in August 2022 as an independent candidate following his resignation from Communist Party of Kenya. [1] [2]

Political career

Mwadime was elected to the 11th parliament for Mwatate Constituency in Taita Taveta County on the ticket of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in 2013. He defeated the incumbent MP Calist Andrew Mwatela. Mwadime was reelected in 2017 to the 12th parliament. [3] During his time in the parliament, he served on several committees including Public Accounts, Pension (11th parliament), Parliamentary Powers and Privileges and Departmental Committee on Trade, Industry and Cooperatives in the 12th parliament. He was elected governor of Taita Taveta County as an independent candidate in August 2022. He polled 49,901 vote to defeat incumbent governor Granton Samboia who scored 23,703 votes. [4] [5] [6]

Calist Andrew Mwatela is a Kenyan politician and educator. He was a member of the East African Legislative Assembly, representing Kenya from 2001 to 2006. He represented Mwatate Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya on an Orange Democratic Movement ticket. He was elected in 2007, but was unable to defend his seat in the 2013 general election.

Ferdinard Ndungu Waititu, also known as Baba Yao, is a Kenyan politician who served as the second governor of Kiambu County from 2016 to January 2020. He was impeached on corruption charges. His troubles started after it was learnt he was involved in a scheme of grabbing land from a widow worth over one million dollars amongst other fraudulent activities. Granton Graham Samboja is a Kenyan politician and media executive who served as the second governor of Taita Taveta County from 2017 to 2022. He is a member of the Jubilee Party of Kenya. Samboja capitalized on his background in the media and his links with President Uhuru Kenyatta to get into politics. His education background remains the subject of controversy.

John Mtuta Mruttu is a Kenyan politician. He is former county governor of Taita-Taveta County in Kenya. He was elected into office in 2013 during the Kenya general elections.

Johnes Mwashushe Mwaruma is a Kenyan politician. He is currently the senator of Taita Taveta County. He is a member of Orange Democratic Movement.

He was elected on the ticket of Orange Democratic Movement in 2013 defeating the incumbent MP Danson Mwazo Mwakulegwa. In the parliament, Mlolwa served on the Departmental Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade. He was one of the coastal politicians who proposed formation of a Coastal Political Party in 2014 to have a bargaining power with the national government for the benefit of the coastal people. Mlolwa was elected secretary of New Coast Parliamentary Group (CPG) in 2016. He lost his reelection in 2017 and was defeated again in the 2022 parliamentary election by Khamis Chome who polled 9,418 while Mlolwa scored 8,426.

Ahmed Ibrahim Abass is a Kenyan politician and a member of the 11th Kenyan parliament from Ijara Constituency in Garissa County.

Abass Sheikh Mohamed is a Kenyan politician currently serving as a senator for the Wajir County elected on the ticket of United Democratic Movement (UDM) in 2022. He was previously a member of the 11th parliament of Kenya from Wajir East Constituency in Wajir County. He was elected on the ticket of the United Republican Party (URP) with the support of Jubilee Coalition in 2013.
