The 2013 National Lacrosse League season, the 27th in the history of the NLL, began on January 5, 2013 and ended with the Championship game on May 11, 2013. The Rochester Knighthawks overcame a mediocre 8-8 season to get hot in the playoffs for the second straight year, defeating the Philadelphia Wings, Minnesota Swarm, and Washington Stealth to win their second straight Championship. The Knighthawks became the first team to repeat as NLL Champions since the 2002-2003 Toronto Rock.
Dhane Smith is a professional lacrosse player for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and the Victoria Shamrocks of the Western Lacrosse Association, as well as Chaos Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League. Smith began his career in 2009 with the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League, where he won the Green Gael Trophy as the league's MVP in 2012. Smith eventually moved up to the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks of Major Series Lacrosse, and was transferred to the Shamrocks during the 2014 season.
David "Big Daddy" Brock is a professional lacrosse player for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League. He played college lacrosse at the University at Albany, and was selected seventh overall in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft by the Boston Blazers. Brock played two games with the blazers in 2011, before being released. He then signed with the Philadelphia Wings, with whom he spent two seasons, before being traded to the Bandits in 2012. Since then it has been hard to keep track of where David has played, he has packed his suitcase almost as much as Ryan Benesch.
Nick Weiss is a professional lacrosse player for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and the Peterborough Lakers of Major Series Lacrosse. Hailing from Port Hope, Ontario, Weiss began his career with the Peterborough Junior Lakers of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League, with whom he played from 2010 to 2013, before being called up to the MSL Lakers in 2014.
Mitchell "Mitch" Wilde is a professional lacrosse player for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks of Major Series Lacrosse. Hailing from Brooklin, Ontario, Wilde attended Donald A. Wilson Secondary School, where he was named MVP of his lacrosse team in 2008 and 2009. He played collegiality at Robert Morris University.
Dan Teat is a retired professional lacrosse player and current assistant coach for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League. A native of Brampton, Ontario, Teat's long lacrosse career began when he was five years old in the Brampton Minor Lacrosse Association. He made his debut with the Brampton Jr. Excelsiors of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League in 1988, winning the league's rookie of the year award. Teat began playing for the Major Excelsiors of Major Series Lacrosse in 1993, once again winning his league's rookie of the year award. His association with the Excelsiors would last over two decades, and he was a forward on squads that won Mann Cup championships in 1993, 1998, 2002, 2008 and 2009.
Glen Bryan is a professional lacrosse player for the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League and the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks of Major Series Lacrosse. Hailing from Orangeville, Ontario, Bryan began his amateur career with the Orangeville Jr B Northmen, and worked his way up to the Jr A Northmen, with whom he won back-to-back Minto Cups in 2008 and 2009. He made his MSL debut in 2010 with the Brooklin Redmen, was drafted 5th overall by the Redmen in the 2011 MSL draft, and joined the Kodiaks in 2012. Bryan played collegiality at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he studied accounting.
Rory Smith is a Canadian professional lacrosse player for the Vancouver Stealth of the National Lacrosse League and the Victoria Shamrocks of Western Lacrosse Association. Smith is known as an enforcer, and has racked up over 1,000 career penalty minutes during his amateur and professional career. His 104 penalty minutes with Orlando in 2010 is the record for most penalty minutes in a single season in NLL history.
Evan Kirk, is a Canadian professional lacrosse goaltender in the National Lacrosse League, currently playing for the Saskatchewan Rush and for the Peterborough Lakers of the Major Series Lacrosse. He was a member of Team Canada during the 2010 World Lacrosse Championship.
Bryce Sweeting is a professional lacrosse player for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and the Peterborough Lakers of Major Series Lacrosse. Hailing from Peterborough, Ontario, Sweeting began playing lacrosse when he was six years old. He is a graduate of St. Peter Catholic Secondary School and St. Clair College.
Matthew Bennett is a professional lacrosse player for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and the Brampton Excelsiors of Major Series Lacrosse. Hailing from Brampton, Ontario, Bennett began his junior lacrosse career in 2010 with the Junior B Mimico Mountaineers. Starting in 2011, he spent four years with the Junior A Brampton Excelsiors. He also played for the Oshawa Machine and the Brampton Inferno of the Canadian Lacrosse League.
