Adolf Andreas Meyer (born 02 November 1960 in Floridsdorf, Vienna), best known by his stage name Andy Borg, is an Austrian Schlager singer and TV presenter. He lives in the Passau area and has been recording music since his debut album Adios Amor which was released as an English version in 1982. [1] In 2006 he replaced Karl Moik as host of the popular ORF show Musikantenstadl. His most successful song was his debut "Adiós Amor" in 1982 which spent 39 weeks in the German charts.

In 2017, Christian Nodal recorded the song with mariachi. In May 2018, Bolivian group Orquesta Internacional Guachambe released a tropical version of the song. Their version had airplay success in their native country. In May 2018, Chilean group Noche de Brujas released a cumbia version cover the song. In September 2018, Peruvian singer Daniela Darcourt released a salsa version cover the song. Her cover reached the number four position in Perú. It was Borg's debut single, and was No. 1 in Germany for five weeks 27 August–24 September, remaining in the charts for a total 39 weeks. The single was also No. 1 in Austria, where it spent 30 weeks in the charts, and No. 2 in Switzerland. The album Adiós Amor in the same year also went to the top of the album charts in both Germany and Austria. It remains Borg's signature song. The lyrics by Kurt Feltz to music by Tex Shultzieg (b.1948) arranged by Alexander Gietz. The song begins "Ich sah dir in's Gesicht, du sagtest: Frag mich nicht".
