Andy Lin is an American esports player of Big Buck Hunter [1] and professional photographer based in New York City.

The Self-Portrait Project

In 2009, Lin founded The Self-Portrait Project (SPP), a photo-based, interactive archive project. [2] [3] Most notably, Lin has taken SPP to Haiti to promote advocacy and awareness of the nation's ongoing housing crisis. [4] [5] According to Lin, the self-portrait mechanism in SPP is influenced by the belief that decisions are best made by the people directly affected by them. [6] [7]

Photography

Andy Lin is a social change photographer. [8] In 2007 Lin co-founded Other Worlds, a non-profit that disseminated images and information about alternative economies and social movements around the world, with Gustavo Castro Soto and Beverly Bell. [9] He also served as a photo editor for the street art quarterly founded by IO Wright, Overspray Magazine. As a travel photographer, he published photos in National Geographic Traveler, including a prize-winner in 2005. [10] In 2006, he documented the Zapatista movement in Chiapas, Mexico for Punk Planet, titled "Zapatista Dreams."

Big Buck Hunter

Nicknamed “The Big Buck Ninja,” Andy Lin is a veteran player of the competitive arcade game Big Buck Hunter. [11] [12] His nickname derives from his calm game-play and longevity in the sport. Lin is the only player to have competed at every World Championship since the inaugural tournament in 2008, [13] except for in 2011, due to a Hurricane Irene related mishap. [14] In 2010, he beat high profile Buck Hunter Travis Pastrana and placed a career-high 5th in both Big Buck Hunter Pro and Big Buck Safari. [15] [16] He placed 21st at the 2019 World Championship in Las Vegas, where he also debuted a custom installation of his Self-Portrait Project, fashioned out of an old Big Buck game unit. [17]

Everyday is an ongoing art project by American photographer Noah Kalina that gained widespread attention when the first segment of the project, Noah takes a photo of himself every day for 6 years also titled everyday, was released in 2006 and became a viral video. The first everyday video features a fast montage of thousands of pictures of Kalina spanning a period of six years all played sequentially as a time lapse. Subsequent releases have followed this format and viewers are able to watch Kalina age.

Nitro Circus is an "action sport collective" led by Travis Pastrana, featuring his friends and him traveling around the world riding dirtbikes, BASE jumping, and performing stunts. Co-founded in 2003 by Pastrana, Nitro Circus has become a media company that produces television programming, documentaries and the Nitro Circus Live tour. In 2016, the company introduced the Nitro World Games, an action sports competition designed around pushing progression in core action sports disciplines like FMX, BMX, skate and scooter.

Laura Aguilar was an American photographer. She was born with auditory dyslexia and attributed her start in photography to her brother, who showed her how to develop in dark rooms. She was mostly self-taught, although she took some photography courses at East Los Angeles College, where her second solo exhibition, Laura Aguilar: Show and Tell, was held. She was well-known for her portraits, mostly of herself, and also focused upon people in marginalized communities, including LGBT and Latino subjects, self-love, and social stigma of obesity.

The 2012 Global RallyCross Championship was the second season of this championship. The season was composed by 6 rounds, including one round in the X Games. Tanner Foust was crowned champion for the second time, beating teammate Brian Deegan.
