Ang Chen Xiang is an athlete from Singapore specialising in the 110m hurdles. He has held and rewritten the national record for the event several times.
Ang was educated at Raffles Institution. [2] At the A Division National Championships, he won back-to-back titles in the 110m hurdles. [2] He attended National University of Singapore to earn his medical degree. [3]
Ang's brother, Ang Ding Hui, also competed in the 110m hurdles and later became his coach. [4]
Ang is a Christian. [5]
In 2015, Ang ran 14.44s to set the national record for the 110m hurdles, which he bettered the same year during the 2015 SEA Games (14.38s). [6] In 2017, he clocked 14.19s at the Thailand Open—after putting his medical studies at NUS on hold—but the record was not ratified. [3] In 2019, he broke the national mark thrice: twice during the Singapore Open (14.27s and 14.26s) and once during the Asian Athletics Championships in Doha (14.25s). [7]
On 15 January 2022, Ang again rewrote the record for the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.16s. [8] Eight days later, he became the first ever Singaporean to clock a sub-14 in the event, setting a new national mark of 13.97s at the Singapore National Championships and qualifying for the 2021 SEA Games in the process. [5] There, he ran 13.94s to win a silver, Singapore's first medal at the event since 1989. [9] On 1 April 2023, he rewrote his record after winning the Hong Kong Athletics Series 3 competition with a timing of 13.90s. [10] Later in the same month, he ran 13.89s at the Singapore Open. [11] On 10 May 2023, Ang clocked 13.83s to win the joint gold at the 2023 SEA Games in Phnom Penh; this was Singapore's first gold in the event since 1967. [12]
Ang took part in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou. He clocked 13.90s in the heats to qualify for the final. [13]
Ang also holds the national record for indoor 60m hurdles (8.16s); [14] his personal best for the same event outdoors is 7.22s. [1]

Andy Kwek Jun Liang is a Singaporean badminton player. He won a bronze medal for Singapore as part of the team at the 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships and 2019, 2021 and also 2023 SEA Games. In 2022, Kwek won a title at the Swedish Open with his partner Danny Bawa Chrisnanta. Kwek and Chrisnanta also represented Singapore men's team at the 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships and helped the team to secure a bronze medal.
Jun Jie Calvin Quek is a Singapore sprinter who specialises in the 400m and 400m hurdles. As a schoolboy, Quek was a perennial medallist at National Schools in both events. He first broke the 400m hurdles national record in February 2022 with a time of 51.73s at a Southeast Asian Games Trial. Subsequently, at the SEA Games in Hanoi, he rewrote his national record with a time of 51.19s and became the first Singaporean to win a SEA Games medal in the event since 1969. At the 2023 SEA Games in Phnom Penh, he ran 50.75s to secure a bronze again. At the same competition, he was part of the 4x400m quartet that broke the national record. In the World University Games, he ran 50.43s to rewrite his 400m hurdles national record. Other competitions Quek had previously competed in include the 2022 Commonwealth Games and 2022 Asian Games.
Mark Lee Ren is a Singaporean athlete who specialises in the 100m and 200m sprints. As a student at Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) -- and coached by former Singapore sprinter Hamkah Afik -- he broke the 100m and 200m national schools records in 2022 with timings of 10.59s and 21.62s respectively.
