Angelique Hoorn (born 25 April 1975 in Wanneperveen) is a Dutch show jumper. [1]
As a newcomer Hoorn reached the fourth position at the 2000 Dutch National Show Jumping Championships, announcing her appearance for the upcoming years. Together with her horse Hascal she won the 2001 Championship in Papendal. She was selected to compete in the Show Jumping World Cup circuit and managed to win a silver medal at the meeting in Jerez in 2002. A few years of less successful years followed, but in 2006 she finished third at the Dutch nationals behind Gerco Schröder and Harrie Smolders. In Mierlo in 2007 she won her second national title with her horse Blaudendraad's O'Brien, finishing in front of Gerco Schröder, Erik van Vleuten and Ben Schröder.
Due to injuries of former Olympic champion Jeroen Dubbeldam and Albert Zoer she and Marc Houtzager were selected by coach Rob Ehrens to represent the Netherlands at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Hoorn and Houtzager will compete in both the individual as well as the team competition in which they form a team with Gerco Schröder and Vincent Voorn. [2]
Cian O'Connor is an Irish equestrian who competes in show jumping. He has competed at three Olympic Games, four World Championships and six European Championships, and has attained 133 senior caps for his country. He won an individual bronze medal at the London Olympic Games 2012 and was a member of the Irish team that took a gold medal at the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2017. O’Connor also won a bronze individual medal at the latter event. At the Tokyo Summer Olympics, Cian and his Irish-bred mount Susan Magnier’s Irish bred Kilkenny finished seventh in the individual class.

The Netherlands competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, People's Republic of China. This was announced in an official statement on the NOC*NSF website. In the statement they named the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games as a highlight in sports to which a lot of sportspeople, coaches and the Dutch sports fans would look forward. The Netherlands aimed for a top 10 nations ranking in the Olympics as well as a top 25 ranking in the Paralympics; they ended up ranking 12th at the Games.
Dibora Monick Olga "Deborah" Gravenstijn is a Dutch judoka and Captain in the Royal Netherlands Air Force. She won a bronze medal in the class Women's 57 kg at the 2004 Summer Olympics and a silver medal four years later at the same event at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
