Anila Bitri Lani (born in 1963, Tirana) is an Albanian diplomat. As of 2016, she is the Albanian ambassador to Italy. [1]
Tirana is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Albania.
She finished her studies at the University of Tirana in Spanish History and Language. She has been a lecturer in Medieval History at the University and has a Ph.D. for the Albanian-Spanish Medieval Relations at the University of Tirana and the University of Granada in Spain. In 2002 she served as Honorary Consul of Honor of Spain and at the end of his mandate was honored by King Juan Carlos for services to the Spanish state. Then she worked as an ambassador in Madrid. In the history of Albania's relations with Spain, Bitri is the most enduring ambassador. During her mandate, relations between the two countries have recognized a dynamic of development both in political, economic and cultural relations. In Spain, Bitri has been described as the "best foreign spanish ambassador".
The University of Tirana is a public and the largest university in Albania. It was originally established in 1957 as the State University of Tirana through merging of five existing institutes of higher education, the most important of which was the Institute of Sciences, founded in 1947.

The Vlora War or the War of 1920 was a series of battles between Italian forces garrisoned throughout the Vlorë region and Albanian nationalists, who were divided into small groups of fighters. The war lasted three months and had great impact in the struggle of Albania for the safeguard of its territories while Albanian borders and future were discussed in the Paris Peace Conference. The Vlora War is seen as a turning point in the establishment of Albanian independence.

Elvira Dones is an Albanian novelist, screenwriter, and documentary film producer. Born in the coastal city of Durrës Dones graduated from the State University of Tirana. In 1988 she was employed by Albanian State Television and in this capacity traveled to Switzerland, where she defected. Tried for treason in Albania, she was sentenced to prison and denied access to her young son until after the collapse of communism in Albania in 1992. From 1988 until 2004 Dones lived in Switzerland where she worked as a writer and a television journalist, while also writing, directing, and producing several documentaries. Since 2004 she has lived in the United States. The bulk of her writing is in either Italian or Albanian, but several of her documentary films have been subtitled in English. Several of these films have either won or been nominated for various awards. Her most recent documentary, Sworn Virgin, tells the story of women in northern Albania who swear perpetual chastity in their teenage years and become men in their society —not women acting like men or women who have gender reassignment, but simply women who are now men. This film was named the best documentary at the Baltimore Women's Film Festival in 2007.

Big Brother 5 (Albania) is the fifth season of the Albanian series of the worldwide franchise of Big Brother. It launched on Saturday, 18 February 2012, with fifteen housemates entering the house. The winner received the 15,000,000 Leks (€100,000) prize. The fifth season of Big Brother Albania aired on two cable and satellite channels 24 hours a day on the Digit-Alb TV network, as well as on two additional channels on DigitAlb Mobile. Daily reviews were shown Monday through Saturday on Top Channel. The eviction show aired on Saturdays at 21:00 CET, while a Sunday edition closed off the week. The main host is Arbana Osmani, while Albana Osmani hosted the Sunday morning spin-off called "Big Brother Albania Fans' Club", featuring dialogues with eliminated contestants and fans of the show. Arian Konomi returned this year and took over the role of the panelist for the third time, thus replacing Blendi Salaj. The winner of the season is Arbër Zeka. The fifth season of Big Brother Albania is known for being the most controversial one to date, it is known also for its numerous fights between the houseguests and the breakdown of a drug-addicted houseguest during the show.
