Anillaco is a municipality and village in La Rioja Province in northwestern Argentina. [1] It is mostly known for being the birthplace of former Argentina President Carlos Menem.
Southernmost settlements are cities, towns, weather stations or permanent military bases which are farther south than latitude 45°S. They are closely related to the Southern Ocean or either the Roaring Forties or Furious Fifties. Antarctic bases are excluded due to not having a permanent population.
The Pensacola Mountains are a large group of mountain ranges and peaks that extend 280 nautical miles in a northeast–southwest direction in the Transantarctic Mountains System, Queen Elizabeth Land region of Antarctica. They comprise the Argentina Range, Forrestal Range, Dufek Massif, Cordiner Peaks, Neptune Range, Patuxent Range, Rambo Nunataks and Pecora Escarpment. These mountain units lie astride the extensive Foundation Ice Stream and Support Force Glacier which drain northward to the Ronne Ice Shelf.
Pendulum Cove is a cove at the north-east side of Port Foster, Deception Island, in the South Shetland Islands of Antarctica. The name of the cove derives from the pendulum and magnetic observations made there by the British expedition under Henry Foster in 1829.

Soquel Canyon State Marine Conservation Area (SMCA) is an offshore marine protected area in Monterey Bay. Monterey Bay is on California’s central coast with the city of Monterey at its south end and the city of Santa Cruz at its north end. The SMCA covers 23.41 square miles (60.6 km2). Within the SMCA, fishing and taking of any living marine resources is prohibited except the commercial and recreational take of pelagic finfish.

Whit Rock is a rock lying between the Trump and Saffery Islands off the west coast of Graham Land. First shown on an Argentine government chart of 1957. Named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) in 1959 for its small size, "whit" meaning the smallest part or particle.
Swithinbank Glacier is a glacier on the west side of Hemimont Plateau flowing north to the southeast corner of Square Bay, in Graham Land. Mapped by Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) from surveys and air photos, 1946–59. Named by United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) for Charles Swithinbank, British glaciologist, a participant in several British, New Zealand and American expeditions to Antarctica, 1949–62.
Poetry Glacier is a glacier flowing north and northwest into the east side of Venus Bay, north King George Island. So named by the Polish Antarctic Expedition, 1984 [in association with "Milosz Point."] Lodowiec Poezji is the translation of the English name.
Clarke Glacier is a 2 miles (3.2 km)-wide, 20 miles (32 km)-long glacier, located on the west coast of Graham Land in Antarctica. It flows west, along the north side of Sickle Mountain and the Baudin Peaks, to Mikkelsen Bay.
Cerros Negros de Jama is a monogenetic volcanic group in the Andes, Jujuy Province, Argentina. The group is formed by about four well preserved scoria cones with lava fields and one isolated lava field, constructed on Ordovician marine sediments and dacitic lavas from the adjacent Cerro Bayo de Archibarca volcano. These cones are aligned submeridionally with a fault system in the ground. The lavas and associated dykes have porphyritic appearance and variable morphology. The lavas show no evidence of ponding in crustal magma chambers, suggesting that the large volatile content of the magma was sufficient to quickly transport it through the crust. Magma temperatures have been estimated at higher than 1,000 °C (1,830 °F).
