Lleida is a city in the west of Catalonia, Spain. It is the capital and largest town in Segrià county, the Ponent region and the province of Lleida. Geographically, it is located in the Catalan Central Depression. It had 140,797 inhabitants as of 2022.
The comarques of Catalonia, often referred to in English as counties, are an administrative division of Catalonia. Each comarca comprises a number of municipalities, roughly equivalent to a county in the United States. Currently, Catalonia is divided into 42 comarques and Aran, considered a "unique territorial entity" and not a comarca.
The Province of Lleida is one of the four provinces of Catalonia. It lies in northeastern Spain, in the western part of the autonomous community of Catalonia, and is bordered by the provinces of Girona, Barcelona, Tarragona, Zaragoza and Huesca and the country of France and the principality of Andorra. It is often popularly referred to as Ponent.
La Pobla de Segur is a municipality located in the comarca of Pallars Jussà, province of Lleida, Catalonia, in northern Spain. According to the 2013 census (INE), the town has a population of 3,073 inhabitants. It is situated at the confluence of the Flamicell and Noguera Pallaresa rivers in the north of the comarca, above the Sant Antoni reservoir. It is an important local service centre, which has allowed it to escape the depopulation which has affected many municipalities in northwestern Catalonia. The village is served by the C-13 road between Tremp and Sort, the N-260 road to Pont de Suert and by a railway station on a railway line to Lleida.
The Lleida Latin-American Film Festival is a cinema festival that takes place in Lleida, Catalonia, Spain awarding Latin American films. It is organised by the Latin American Centre of Lleida and is sponsored by the city council, the University of Lleida and La Caixa. It's one of the main yearly cultural events in the town and takes place at the Teatre Principal, CaixaFòrum Lleida, Funatic, Cafè del Teatre de l'Escorxador, Institut d'Estudis Ilerdencs, the main campus of the University of Lleida, and the Hotel Condes de Urgel, alongside other cultural activities. The event has taken place since 1993, and awards were first given in 1997. At one time the festival took place in January but it now takes place in late March.
Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida is a Spanish politician. A qualified lawyer, Duran began his political career when he was elected MP in the General Elections of Spain in 1979, representing Lleida becoming tinent d'alcalde in the municipality of Lleida.
Quest is a 1996 German animated short film directed by Tyron Montgomery, written (story) and produced by Thomas Stellmach at the University of Kassel - Art College. After four years of production it won several awards including the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.

Lleida–Alguaire Airport is an airport located in Alguaire, Catalonia, Spain; about 15 km (9.3 mi) from the centre of Lleida and about 150 km (93 mi) from the centre of Barcelona.
La Llotja de Lleida is a theatre and congress centre in Lleida. It opened its doors in January 2010, and is owned by the city council. Giuseppe Verdi's Il Trovatore premiered there on 21 January that year. Its two congress halls, called A and B, have capacity for 400 and 200 people, while the main auditory, Sala Ricard Vinyes, has 1000 seats. It's located in Pardinyes, next to the river Segre and the Lleida Pirineus railway station, on the site of a former municipal market.
Unió Esportiva Lleida was a Spanish football team based in Lleida, in the autonomous community of Catalonia. It was founded as Lérida Balompié-AEM on 30 October 1939, and became Unión Deportiva Lérida in 1947, after a merger with CD Leridano. It held home matches at Camp d´Esports, with a 13,500-seat capacity. It was dissolved in 2011. The soul of the club was reformed as Lleida Esportiu.

Guimerà is a municipality and village in the comarca of Urgell in the province of Lleida in Catalonia, Spain. The village, the only settlement in the municipality, is situated on the banks of the Corb river. The main part of the village is built up a hillside on the north bank of the river. The population in 2011 was 320.
Maureen Selwood is an Irish-born American filmmaker and visual artist whose works employ simple line drawings, marriages between animation and live footage, digital projections and installations. She is a pioneer in the field of independent and experimental animation. She has received numerous awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship (1992), and is the first animation artist to be awarded the Rome Prize (2002) in Visual Arts from the American Academy in Rome.
Lleida is one of the four constituencies represented in the Parliament of Catalonia, the regional legislature of the autonomous community of Catalonia. The constituency currently elects 15 deputies. Its boundaries correspond to those of the Spanish province of Lleida. The electoral system uses the D'Hondt method and a closed-list proportional representation, with a minimum threshold of three percent.

Her life's work spans genres, from cinematic short film to television series for children. Neubauer has received two BAFTA Cymru awards.
The Other Shape is a 2022 Colombian-Brazilian adult animated science fiction film written and directed by Diego Felipe Guzmán in his directorial debut. It won the award for best animated feature film at the Sitges Film Festival in 2022, and the same year received a nomination for the Contrachamp award at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and the award for best feature film at the Chilemonos International Animation Festival. According to the newspaper El Colombiano, the film "used the frame-by-frame technique with more than 60,480 drawings or frames to achieve [its] story". It was commercially released on March 30, 2023 in Colombian theaters.

Barcelona Burning is a Canadian animated short film, directed by Theodore Ushev and released in 2020. A reflection on the 2019–2020 Catalan protests, the film consists of hot wax painting superimposed on the Barcelona telephone directory. The film was commissioned by the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona after the riots broke out just a few days before Ushev's scheduled talk at the centre about his creative process.
