Anja Eichhorst (born c. 1971) [2] is a German backstroke swimmer who won three medals at the European championships in 1989, 1991 and 1992. [3]
After retirement from senior swimming she competed in the masters category and won three world titles in backstroke events in 2000. [4] [5]
Aaron Wells Peirsol is an American former competition swimmer and backstroke specialist who is a former world champion and world record-holder. He is a three-time Olympian and seven-time Olympic medalist. Individually, he currently holds the world record in the 200-meter backstroke event. In February 2011, Peirsol announced his retirement, saying, "I ended up doing everything I set out to do."

Karlyn Pipes, formerly Karlyn Pipes-Neilsen, is an American swimmer from Lompoc, California. Dylan Carter is a Trinidad and Tobago competitive swimmer. Claire Curzan is an American competitive swimmer and Olympian. Specialising in multiple events, she earned an Olympic silver medal in the 4×100 meter medley relay in the 2020 Summer Olympics by swimming the preliminary butterfly leg. She holds junior world records in the long course 50 meter freestyle and 100 meter butterfly and the short course 50 meter butterfly and 100 meter butterfly.
