The Ankasar mine is a large copper mine located in the south-east of Armenia in Syunik Province. Ankasar represents one of the largest copper reserve in Armenia and in the world having estimated reserves of 1.2 billion tonnes of ore grading 0.49% copper and 0.2% molybdenum. [1]

It is considered the southern end of Armenia as it is located on the left bank of river Araks River on the border with Iran, 9 km southwest of Meghri. Agarak was considered an urban settlement until September 2016, when it was incorporated into the community of Meghri.

Dastakert, is a village in the Syunik Province of Armenia that belongs to the community of Sisian. It is located 225 km south of the capital Yerevan and 115 km north-west of the provincial centre Kapan. With a population of 323 inhabitants as per the 2011 census, and an area of 0.5 km², Dastakert was Armenia's smallest urban community in terms of both population and area until November 2017 when it became a rural settlement. According to the 2016 official estimate, the current population of Dastakert is around 300.

Myszków represents one of the largest copper and silver reserve in Poland having estimated reserves of 1,334 million tonnes of ore grading 0.15% copper and 2.37 g/tonnes silver. The 1.334 billion tonnes of ore contains 2 million tonnes of copper metal and around 3,200 tonnes of silver but the deposit also grades 0.07% molybdenum that contains 934,000 tonnes of molybdenum metal and 0.05% tungsten that contains 667,000 tonnes of tungsten metal.

Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. was a full cycle mining company with acquisition, exploration, development, and operation in North America. The corporate office was located in Denver, Colorado. The company primarily produced copper, gold, and molybdenum. Over its history, the Company evolved from being a major primary molybdenum producer to becoming a copper and gold mining company with the construction and development of the Mount Milligan mine and concentrator in British Columbia, Canada. In December 2014, Vallex Group launched production operations at the mine, which is a US$380 million project. In February 2018 Vallex Group published a statement announcing suspension of all operations and laying off nearly all staff.
