James Danforth Quayle is an American retired politician who served as the 44th vice president of the United States from 1989 to 1993 under President George H. W. Bush. A member of the Republican Party,Quayle represented Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1977 to 1981 and in the U.S. Senate from 1981 to 1989.
Peter John Visclosky is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for Indiana's 1st congressional district from 1985 until his retirement in 2021. He is a member of the Democratic Party and was the dean of the Indiana congressional delegation before his retirement in 2021. The District lies in Northwest Indiana,and includes most of the Indiana side of the Chicago metropolitan area. Redistricting passed by the Indiana General Assembly in 2011 changed the district's boundaries,effective January 2013,to include all of Lake and Porter counties as well as the western and northwestern townships of LaPorte County,while shifting Benton,Newton,and Jasper counties out of the district.
The St. Joseph Valley Parkway is a freeway in the U.S. states of Indiana and Michigan,serving as a bypass route around Elkhart,Mishawaka,and South Bend in Indiana and Niles in Michigan. The freeway runs to the south and west of Elkhart and South Bend and Niles and consists of segments of U.S. Route 31 (US 31) and US 20;those two highway designations run concurrently at the southwestern rim of the South Bend metropolitan area. It continues north to run along the St. Joseph River valley.

The Indiana Hoosiers football program represents Indiana University Bloomington in NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision college football and in the Big Ten Conference. He was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives in 1986. In 1992,Young was redistricted and was reelected to the 92nd district. Young previously served on the Marion County Board of Zoning Appeals from 1980 to 1982. He ran for the United States House of Representatives for Indiana's 4th Congressional District in 2002 and in 2010.
The NABC Coach of the Year is an award given annually by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) to recognize the top head coach in men's college basketball across the four largest college athletic associations in the United States. The award has been given since the 1958–59 season to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I coaches,since 1961–62 to Division II,and since 1975–76 to Division III coaches. At the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) level it has been awarded since 1992–93,while the two-year schools' coaches have been honored since 1983–84. The Indiana State Sycamores football team is the NCAA Division I football program of Indiana State University in Terre Haute,Indiana. They compete in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Playoffs in the 2014 NCAA Division I Football Championship. Their first season was 1896. The Sycamore's greatest season was 1983,when coach Dennis Raetz led them to the 2nd round of the 1983 NCAA Division I Football Championship and ended the season with a record of 9–4. The Sycamores also appeared in 1984 NCAA Division I Football Championship playoffs. The Indiana State Sycamores play their home games at Memorial Stadium,which seats 12,764.

The award was first given following the 1979–80 season,the first year of the conference's existence. Seven players have won the award multiple times:Byron Larkin,Brian Grant,Rashad Phillips,Alfredrick Hughes,Keifer Sykes,Loudon Love,and Antoine Davis. Hughes,unlike the other four who each won twice,was awarded the player of the year on three occasions.

The Mid-American Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an award given to the most outstanding men's basketball player in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The award was first given following the 1967–68 season. Four players have won the award multiple times:Tom Kozelko,Ron Harper,Gary Trent and Bonzi Wells. Trent is the only player to have been honored as player of the year three times (1993–95). There have been no ties,nor has any player from the MAC ever won any of the national player of the year awards.
