Ann Trindade is a Principal Fellow in the History Department at the University of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She was educated at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford and is the author of a biography of Berengaria of Navarre. [1]

Berengaria was queen regnant of Castile in 1217 and queen consort of León from 1197 to 1204. As the eldest child and heir presumptive of Alfonso VIII of Castile, she was a sought after bride, and was engaged to Conrad, the son of Holy Roman Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa. After his death, she married her cousin, Alfonso IX of León, to secure the peace between him and her father. She had five children with him before their marriage was voided by Pope Innocent III.
Trindade is a town located on São Tomé Island, which is part of the island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe. Its population is 16,140. It is the seat of Mé-Zóchi District. Berengaria of Portugal, was a Queen consort of Denmark by marriage to Danish King Valdemar II. She was the fifth daughter of Portuguese King Sancho I and Dulce of Aragon. She was the mother of Danish kings Eric IV, Abel and Christopher I.
Theresa of Portugal was Queen of Léon as the first wife of King Alfonso IX of León. She was born at Coimbra, the oldest daughter of Sancho I of Portugal and Dulce of Aragon. When her marriage was annulled because of consanguinity, she retired to a convent. She was beatified in 1705.

The Trindade hotspot is a working hypothesis supposing that the submarine volcanic chain Vitória-Trindade, off the eastern coast of Brazil in the southern Atlantic Ocean, is a volcanic hotspot chain. It was considered that the supposed hot-spot should be responsible for the creation of the east-west trending Vitória-Trindade seamount chain, which includes the Trindade and Martim Vaz archipelago at its easternmost end. Trindade, a small island in the archipelago, is the hotspot's most recent eruptive center.

The manuscript won the Adelaide Festival Biennial Award for Literature; the novel was short-listed for The Age Book of the Year. Its author was compared by critics with PG Wodehouse, Don DeLillo, Julian Barnes, Umberto Eco, and Australian Nobellist Patrick White. Despite its critical success, the collapse of the original publisher meant that Propinquity did not reach a wide audience, although in 2013 it was released on Amazon as a Kindle e-book and a CreateSpace print-on-demand paperback.
