Anna Konik (born 1974 in Lubliniec, Poland) is a contemporary artist. She makes video installations, objects; her practice combines video, photography, drawing, sculpture. She lives and works in Berlin. [1]
Konik studied at the Faculty of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, [1] and was an actress of the Academy Theater in Warsaw. [2] She studied in the workshops of Krzysztof M. Bednarski (1996/1997) and prof. Grzegorz Kowalski (1997/2000). [1] Konik's work includes video installations, objects, video art, photography, and drawings. [1]
In 2010 and 2011 she cooperated as a guest with the Fashion Design Faculty at the Design Department of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. In 2012 she took the doctor's degree at the Department of Media and Scenography of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. [1]
Marta Magdalena Abakanowicz-Kosmowska was a Polish sculptor and fiber artist of Tartar descent. She was known for her use of textiles as a sculptural medium and her outdoor installations. She is widely regarded as one of Poland's most internationally acclaimed artists. She was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, Poland, from 1965 to 1990 and a visiting professor at University of California, Los Angeles in 1984.

Judy Pfaff is an American artist known mainly for installation art and sculptures, though she also produces paintings and prints. Pfaff has received numerous awards for her work, including a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Fellowship in 2004 and grants from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation (1983) and the National Endowment for the Arts. Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw is a public university of visual arts and applied arts located in the Polish capital. The Academy traces its history back to the Department of Arts founded at the Warsaw University in 1812. As a separate institution it was founded in 1844 during the Partitions of Lithuania-Poland. In an upgrade in 1904 it was named the Warsaw School of Fine Arts; and in 1932 it received recognition as an Academy. At first the institute did not have its own building and classes were held in several locations around the city. Following an architectural competition a design by Alfons Gravier was chosen and construction began in 1911. The building was completed by the outbreak of the First World War.
Katy Schimert is an American artist known for exhibitions and installations that meld disparate media into cohesive formal and conceptual visual statements arising out of personal experience, myth and empirical knowledge. She interweaves elements of fine and decorative arts, figuration and abstraction in densely layered drawings and sculpture that together suggest elliptical narratives or unfolding, cosmic events. Curator Heidi Zuckerman wrote that Schimert is inspired by "the places where the organized and the chaotic intersect—the scientific and the mythic, the known and the unknown, and the real and the imagined … she creates work that exists where, through fantasy, truth and beauty meet."
