Anna Mikaela Ekstrand is a Swedish art curator.
In 2014, she founded the English-language online magazine Cultbytes , which focuses on arts and culture, and serves as its editor-in-chief and publisher. [1]
Together with Bianca-Abdi Boragi and Katherine Adams, she curated "Contact Zone," [2] the 2nd edition of The Immigrant Artist Biennial in New York and New Jersey, featuring 55 artists [3] between 2023 and 2024. In connection with the biennal, she also worked with Fotografiska in New York. [4] Since 2023, she is the deputy director of The Immigrant Artist Biennial. [5]
Ekstrand curated the exhibition "Gunilla Lundahl: Social Justice, Freedom, and Beauty" with artistic direction by Sanna Fried at ArkDes 2023. [6] The exhibition was connected to the book Curating beyond the mainstream which she edited together with Maria Lind and several other curators.
Ekstrand has curated exhibitions at museums and galleries in Stockholm, Vienna, and New York with several feminist artists. [7]
RoseLee Goldberg is an art historian, author, critic and curator of performance art. She is most well known as being the founder and director of Performa, a performance art organisation. She is also currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Arts Administration at New York University.
Jens Hoffmann Mesén is a writer, editor, educator, and exhibition maker. His work has attempted to expand the definition and context of exhibition making. From 2003 to 2007 Hoffmann was director of exhibitions at the Institute of Contemporary Arts London. He is the former director of the CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Art from 2007 to 2016 and deputy director for exhibitions and programs at The Jewish Museum from 2012 to 2017, a role from which he was terminated following an investigation into sexual harassment allegations brought forth by staff members. Hoffmann has held several teaching positions including California College of the Arts, the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti and Goldsmiths, University of London, as well as others.
Michelle Grabner is an artist, curator, and critic based in Wisconsin. She is the Crown Family Professor of Art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she has taught since 1996. She has curated several important exhibitions, including the 2014 Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art along with Anthony Elms and Stuart Comer, and FRONT International, the 2016 Portland Biennial at the Oregon Contemporary, a triennial exhibition in Cleveland, Ohio in 2018. In 2014, Grabner was named one of the 100 most powerful women in art and in 2019, she was named a 2019 National Academy of Design's Academician, a lifetime honor. In 2021, Grabner was named a Guggenheim Fellow by The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. In 2024 Grabner was inducted into the Wisconsin Academy of Art and Science.

Defne Ayas is a curator, lecturer, and editor in the field of contemporary art and its institutions. Ayas directed, cofounded, curated, and advised several art institutes, initiatives, and exhibition platforms across the globe, including in the United States, Netherlands, China and Hong Kong, South Korea, Russia, Lithuania, and Italy. Exploring art's role within social and political processes, Ayas is best known for conceiving inventive exhibition and biennale formats within diverse geographies, in each instance composing interdisciplinary frameworks that provide historical anchoring and engagement with local conditions. Working between Berlin and New York since 2018, she currently serves as Senior Program Advisor and Curator at Large at Performa. Maria Lind is a curator, writer and educator from Stockholm. Since 2023, Lind is the director of Kin Museum of Contemporary Art in Giron/Kiruna. From 2020 to 2023, she served as the counsellor of culture at the embassy of Sweden in Moscow. Prior to that, she was the director of Stockholm’s Tensta Konsthall, the artistic director of the 11th Gwangju Biennale, the director of the graduate program at the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, the director of IASPIS in Stockholm and the director of Kunstverein München, Munich.
Jonatan Habib Engqvist is a Swedish author and curator. He is educated in philosophy and art history at Södertörns University and art theory at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. He works internationally and has curated several art biennials.
