Anna Ndahambelela Shiweda (born 11 June 1958) is a member of the Namibian legislature and a deputy minister of Agriculture, Water and Land reform since 2015. She served as member of National Assembly from 2015 to 2020. [1] [2]
Shiweda is a holder of a master's degree in Agricultural Production from 1984 to 1988. She is also a holder of a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering earned from 1980 to 1983 enrollment. Shiweda attended and obtain West Africa School Certificate from 1975 to 1979 in Nigeria. [3]
In the current administration of President Hage Geingob, Shiweda was appointed to serve as deputy minister of Agriculture, Water and Land reform since 2015. Under the administration of President Hifikepunye Pohamba she served for a decade as a deputy permanent secretary form 2004–2014. [1]
Shiweda was part of The National Stakeholders on Namibia accession's process to the convention on the protection and use of trans-boundary watercourses and international lakes which happened on 31 March 2022 in Windhoek, Namibia. She served in a purpose of improving the water supply and usage in Namibia. [4] Shiweda was part of N$37m desalination plant for Bethanie project, where she strongly believed in "quality over quantity". she said that one need to invest into expensive and energy-consuming treatment processes known as membrane technology (desalination) to reduce the concentration of contaminants, that are said to be not good for human consumption. Desalination is a process that removes mineral components from saline water. More generally, desalination is the removal of salts and minerals from a substance. One example is soil desalination. This is important for agriculture. It is possible to desalinate saltwater, especially sea water, to produce water for human consumption or irrigation. The by-product of the desalination process is brine. Many seagoing ships and submarines use desalination. Modern interest in desalination mostly focuses on cost-effective provision of fresh water for human use. Along with recycled wastewater, it is one of the few water resources independent of rainfall.

Water supply and sanitation in Israel are intricately linked to the historical development of Israel. Because rain falls only in the winter, and largely in the northern part of the country, irrigation and water engineering are considered vital to the country's economic survival and growth. In 2022, 85% of the country's drinkable water was produced through desalination of saltwater and brackish water.
Alpheus ǀGou-ǃna ǃNaruseb is a Namibian politician who has served in the cabinet of Namibia in various portfolios. A member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO), !Naruseb has served in the cabinet since 1997 and the National Assembly since 1995.

Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is a Namibian politician who is Namibia's third and current vice president since February 2024. She previously served as the deputy prime minister of Namibia from 2015 to 2024. Currently the SWAPO vice president, and has retained her position and is set to become the party's first female presidential candidate in November 2024. She has also served as Namibia's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation since December 2012. From March 2010 to December 2012, she was Minister of Environment and Tourism. Nandi-Ndaitwah is a member of SWAPO, Namibia's ruling party, and a long-time member of the National Assembly. In 2017, Nandi-Ndaitwah was elected vice-president of the Swapo Party at the party's 6th Congress. She is the first woman to serve in that position.
The Cabinet of Namibia is an appointed body that was established by Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Namibia. It is mandated to include the following positions: the President of Namibia, the Prime Minister of Namibia and any positions that the President so appoints.
Agriculture in Namibia contributes around 5% of the national Gross Domestic Product though 25% to 40% of Namibians depend on subsistence agriculture and herding. Primary products included livestock and meat products, crop farming and forestry. Only 2% of Namibia's land receives sufficient rainfall to grow crops. The Landless People's Movement (LPM) is a political party in Namibia. It is led by former deputy minister of lands and resettlement Bernadus Swartbooi, who serves as its president and chief change campaigner, and Henny Seibeb, the party's deputy leader. Ester-Anna-Liisa Shiwomwenyo Nghipondoka is a Namibian politician and member of SWAPO. She was appointed the Minister of Education, Arts and Culture in March 2020 after having worked as deputy minister with the same portfolio since 2015. In 2021 under her ministry they have implemented a new education curriculum called Advanced Subsidiary (AS). She further stated in 2022 that "the new curriculum is not bad". Nghipondoka also encouraged the teachers to embrace the new curriculum despite the challenges it has.
The Erongo Desalination Plant, also known as the Orano Desalination Plant, is a sea water desalination plant in Namibia. The facility was constructed between 2008 and 2010 by Orano Mining Namibia, part of the French nuclear fuel cycle company Orano, which at the time was known as Areva Ressources Namibia, part of Areva.
The Bethanie Desalination Plant, also Bethany Desalination Plant, is a brackish water desalination plant in the settlement of Bethanie in southern Namibia. The facility is owned and was developed by the Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater). The potable water produced by this plant, whose capacity production is 487 cubic meters (487,000 L) per day, is expected to supply the town of Bethanie until 2037.

The Namwater Desalination Plant, is a sea water desalination plant under development in Namibia. The facility is being developed by Namwater, the national water utility parastatal company of Namibia. It is intended to address the severe water scarcity in the middle Namibia coastal area, in the Erongo Region, and in the capital city of Windhoek.
