Anna Woolhouse (born in 1984) is a British sports journalist and presenter, who has been working for Sky Sports since 2012. She is the lead boxing presenter for the network, and has covered many high-profile fights, such as Anthony Joshua vs. Alexander Povetkin, Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin, and Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. She has also interviewed many boxing stars, such as Anthony Joshua, Lennox Lewis, Tony Bellew, and Natasha Jonas. [1] [2] [3] She has a BA Honours degree in music from Leeds University, and a postgraduate degree in broadcast journalism from the same institution. [1]

Career

She started her career as a radio presenter, and then joined Sky Sports as an ice hockey reporter. She has also hosted shows on other sports, such as W Series, rugby league,darts and basketball. [1]

Woolhouse has interviewed, among many others, world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua following the first loss in his professional boxing career to Andy Ruiz Jr., in 2019. [4] [5] [6]

Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin was a heavyweight professional boxing match contested between the defending WBC interim champion Dillian Whyte and former world champion Alexander Povetkin, with Whyte's WBC interim and the inaugural WBC Diamond titles on the line. The event was originally scheduled to take place on 2 May 2020 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England, but was rescheduled twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic with the event being finalised for 22 August at the headquarters of Matchroom Boxing in Brentwood, Essex. Prior to the rescheduled fight, Whyte split from long-time coach Mark Tibbs and appointed Xavier Miller in the role. Povetkin defeated Whyte via fifth-round knockout.

Alexander Povetkin vs. Dillian Whyte II, billed as Rumble On The Rock, was a heavyweight professional boxing rematch contested between the former WBA (Regular) champion and defending WBC interim champion Alexander Povetkin, and former WBC interim champion Dillian Whyte. The event was originally set to take place on 21 November 2020, however was postponed when Povetkin tested positive for COVID-19. A venue had not initially been confirmed for the rematch, but the bout took place in Gibraltar on 27 March 2021. Their first fight ended with a fifth-round technical knockout victory for Povetkin. In this rematch, Whyte gained his revenge by knocking out Povetkin in the fourth round. The fight would ultimately be the last of Povetkin's career, as he announced his retirement soon afterwards aged 41 on 13 June 2021.

Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua is a proposed heavyweight professional boxing match contested between WBC champion, Tyson Fury, and former WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO champion, Anthony Joshua. The fight has been dubbed as "the biggest fight in British boxing history". As of April 2023, no agreement has been reached which secured a fight between the two heavyweights.
