Lois McMaster Bujold is an American speculative fiction writer. She is an acclaimed writer, having won the Hugo Award for best novel four times, matching Robert A. Heinlein's record. Her novella "The Mountains of Mourning" won both the Hugo Award and Nebula Award. In the fantasy genre, The Curse of Chalion won the Mythopoeic Award for Adult Literature and was nominated for the 2002 World Fantasy Award for best novel, and both her fourth Hugo Award and second Nebula Award were for Paladin of Souls. In 2011 she was awarded the Skylark Award. She has won two Hugo Awards for Best Series, in 2017 for the Vorkosigan Saga and in 2018 for the World of the Five Gods. The Science Fiction Writers of America named her its 36th SFWA Grand Master in 2019.

Cameron Peter Daddo is an Australian actor, musician and presenter. From 1987 to 1988, he hosted dating game show Perfect Match Australia. He won two Logie Awards for his performances in Golden Fiddles and Tracks of Glory. After moving to Los Angeles, Daddo played Brian Peterson in soap opera Models Inc.. He also starred in F/X: The Series, Hope Island and She Spies. He hosted the 2007 reality show Pirate Master on CBS. In 2020, Daddo joined the cast of Home and Away as Evan Slater. In addition to his acting career, Daddo is also a musician and radio host. He joined smoothfm in 2012 as the host of Sunday mornings, before moving on to host Mellow Music in the evenings.
Emma Darcy is the pseudonym used by the Australian husband–wife writing team of Wendy Brennan and Frank Brennan, they wrote in collaboration over 45 romance novels. In 1993, for the Emma Darcy pseudonym's 10th anniversary, they created the "Emma Darcy Award Contest" to encourage authors to finish their manuscripts. After the death of Frank Brennan in 1995, Wendy wrote on her own. She lived in New South Wales, Australia.

It was not awarded in 2020, and was replaced by the Vivian Award, awarded for the first time in 2021.
