Anne-Christine Ramberg (born 26 August 1952) is a Swedish lawyer and since 2000 the general secretary for the Swedish Bar Association (Sveriges advokatsamfund). She is the first woman to hold this position. [1]
Ramberg is the daughter of Agne Christenson and his wife Elise, a lawyer. She grew up in Östermalm in Stockholm, where she lived at Grev Magnigatan and studied at Norra Real. She worked as a secretary between 1974 and 1975. [2] She studied law at Stockholm University, and became a candidate in 1976. She has been a practicing lawyer since 1981. [2] Besides her work as the general secretary for the Swedish Bar Association, she also has other positions both in Sweden and internationally. [2] She has been a member of the Swedish Judges Proposals Board, has worked for the European Court of Justice, and has been a member of the economic crime units board. She has also worked for and been a member of the International Legal Assistance Consortium (ILAC), the International Bar Association (IBA), the International Bar Association Human Rights Institute (BAHRI) and IBA Human Rights Trust, Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) and CEELI Institute. She has previously been a member of Press opinion board for six years, chairman of the board at Juristföreningen (Lawyers Association) in Stockholm. [2] as well as chairman of the board at Stockholm University, and for many years a member of the ethical council at the national Police board, and general director at the security police reference group. [2]
In 2006, Ramberg was awarded the H. M. The King's Medal of 12th size with a blue ribbon for her work in the Swedish justice system. [3] In 2016, Ramberg became the recipient of an honorary doctorate degree from the judicial faculty at Uppsala University. [4] Ramberg was chosen to give the 12th annual Anna Lindh Lecture in Lund in 2016 where she addressed the challenge to businesses of upholding human rights. [5]
In her role as a general secretary and lawyer, Ramberg has often been involved in judicial matters in the social debate in Sweden, which has often caused controversy. Ramberg has been critical towards several propositions by justice minister Thomas Bodström about giving the police more room for surveillance and interception, which she thought compromised personal integrity. [6] She has also criticized the Swedish Tax Office for its tax revisions against law firms and its way to review others by the so-called third man revisions. [7] She has also directed criticism towards justice minister Beatrice Ask, who expressed the opinion that suspected sex buyers should be exposed by media; Ramberg said that it was a "scary opinion". [8]
Between 1977 and 2002, Ramberg was married to lawyer Fredrik Ramberg (born 1949), who is the son of lawyer Johan Ramberg. [9] The couple have a son together, who was born in 1984. [10] She has since been in a relationship with lawyer Claes Lundblad (born 1946). [11]

Anna Kristina Axén Olin is a Swedish Moderate politician and member of the Riksdag, she is currently a member and the Second vice-Speaker of the Education Committee. She currently takes up seat number 244 in the Riksdag. She was a member of the Justice Committee from her entry in the Riksdag until February 2019. She held the post of Mayor of Stockholm between 2006–2008, being the city's second female mayor. She also served as deputy chairman of the party from 2003 to 2009, when she was replaced by Beatrice Ask.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights in Sweden are regarded as some of the most progressive in Europe and the world. Same-sex sexual activity was legalized in 1944 and the age of consent was equalized to that of heterosexual activity in 1972. Sweden also became the first country in the world to allow transgender people to change their legal gender post-sex reassignment surgery in 1972, whilst transvestism was declassified as an illness in 2009. Legislation allowing legal gender changes without hormone replacement therapy and sex reassignment surgery was passed in 2013.
Same-sex marriage has been legal in Sweden since 1 May 2009 following the adoption of a gender-neutral marriage law by the Riksdag on 1 April 2009. Sweden was the seventh country in the world and the fifth in Europe to open marriage to same-sex couples nationwide. Existing registered partnerships remain in force and can be converted to a marriage if the partners so desire, either through a written application or through a formal ceremony. New registered partnerships are no longer able to be entered into and marriage is now the only legally recognized form of union for couples regardless of sex.

She was a Member of the Riksdag for Stockholm County from September 2006 to September 2018. She served as parliamentary leader from October 2010 to January 2015.
Karin Maria Bruzelius is a Swedish-born Norwegian supreme court justice and former president of the Norwegian Association for Women's Rights. In 1989, she became the first woman to be appointed Permanent Secretary of a government ministry, heading the Ministry of Transport and Communications until 1997. She was appointed supreme court justice on the Supreme Court of Norway in 1997, retiring in 2011. She has previously also been a director-general in the Ministry of Justice and a corporate lawyer. She was a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration at The Hague from 2004 to 2010, and chaired the Petroleum Price Board from 1987 to 2004. She served as president of the Norwegian Association for Women's Rights from 1978 to 1984, and from 2018 to 2020. She has been affiliated with the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law at the University of Oslo Faculty of Law since 2011.
Claes Gustaf Borgström was a Swedish lawyer and politician. He served as Equality Ombudsman (JämO) from 2000 until 2007. A member of the Social Democratic Party prior to 2013, he joined the Left Party in that year.
Björn Olof Söder is a Swedish Sweden Democrats politician who served as Second Deputy Speaker of the Riksdag from September 2014 to September 2018. He has been a Member of the Riksdag (SD) for Stockholm County since October 2010. He previously served as Leader of the Sweden Democrats in the Riksdag from 2010 to 2014 and Secretary of the Sweden Democrats from 2005 to 2015.

A hijacked truck was deliberately driven into crowds along Drottninggatan before being crashed into an Åhléns department store. Five people, the youngest an 11-year-old girl, were killed. 14 others were seriously injured.
