Maarten van Heemskerck or Marten Jacobsz Heemskerk van Veen was a Dutch portrait and religious painter, who spent most of his career in Haarlem. He was a pupil of Jan van Scorel, and adopted his teacher's Italian-influenced style. He spent the years 1532–36 in Italy. He produced many designs for engravers, and is especially known for his depictions of the Wonders of the World.

Michael Ross is an American contemporary artist, known for his small-scale sculptures. Although Michael Ross has exhibited conceptually based works including performance, mail art, video, and audience participation projects, the last twenty years have seen the artist direct his focus toward small, precise wall mounted sculptures created from scraps, unidentifiable hardware and miscellaneous things. Michael Ross's earliest small-scale sculpture consisted of a single upright thimble containing the dust from several rooms of his home. A small work created by the artist in 1994 made a wry salute to large-scale minimal metal sculptures like those of Donald Judd. Over the years, Ross has also created numerous unique tiny sculptures inspired by the Japanese fairy tales of the writer Lafcadio Hearn. His focus on the minuscule has justly identified the artist as, "a true scholar of the tiny kingdom" and “a pioneer of the subversive small gesture”. Michael Ross received his BFA at The State University of New York, Buffalo and his MFA at Columbia University in New York, NY.
Kris Lemsalu is a contemporary artist based in Tallinn, Estonia and Vienna, Austria. She studied art at the Estonian Academy of Arts, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Eccentric with color and material, she uses props, costumes, and other natural materials to portray her artwork. In these installations, Lemsalu sculpts an installation that "gives birth to a world of shamanic force, visionary weirdness, and collective revival." By playing with traditions, Lemsalu blurs the origin and scenically removes their dogma. She avoids "concrete labeling, simultaneously showing us the absurdity of as well as the effectiveness of rituals. From this collective transformative euphoria emerges a belief in the possibility of human redemption." "A punk pagan trickster feminist sci-fi shaman, Kris Lemsalu gathers together both collected and crafted objects into totemic sculptures and hallucinatory environments, animated with performances by the artist and her coterie of collaborators;" her work being shown in many places, including Berlin, Copenhagen and Tokyo. In 2015, she participated in Frieze Art Fair New York, where her work Whole Alone 2 was selected among of five best exhibits by the Frieze New York jury.
Nicos Baikas is a Greek artist who lives and works in Athens. He started his art studies in 1967 at the Athens School of Fine Arts and later studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. He started exhibiting his works in the 1980s and achieved some notability in Germany after his participation in the Documenta 9 art exhibition, in 1992. His work is a synthesis of words and images, usually performed with pencil on paper in black and white.
