Ansar al-Mahdi Protection Corps are a military unit of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
It was founded in 1989 after the split of Ansar al-Imam (Guard Corps) and Vali-ye Amr special forces unit. [1] [2]
The Mossad allegedly hired members of the unit to carry out Assassination of Ismail Haniyeh. [3]
Their current commander is Fathollah Jamiri. [4]
One of its former commanders was Ali Nasiri. [5]
It was the forces of Zanjan province, on 14 June 2025 in Iran–Israel war declared the death of five of his fighters named after Commander Reza Najafi, Hassan Rasouli, [6] Hamid Tomari, Akbar Azizi and Amir Khani. [7] [8] [9]
