Anthony T. DiPietro is an American attorney. He is best known for representing more than 300 patients of Robert Hadden who were sexually abused and the subsequent cover-up by Columbia University. The settlements have accumulated more than $200 million to date, which is the largest by an Ivy League school in history. [1] [2] [3] [4]

DiPietro was involved in the lawsuit dating back to 2013 when he was sent cease-and-desist letters from NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital along with threats to sue for libel and to approach the state bar after posting a blog about the case. He had previously filed a civil suit on behalf of Andrew Yang's wife (as Jane Doe) and was accused of attempting to "single-handedly destroy Dr. Hadden and strip him of any of his rights." [3] His allegations included that Columbia University staff knew about Hadden's sexual abuse dating back to 1994 and that Hadden was "the most prolific serial sexual predator in New York State history." [1] DiPietro later filed a lawsuit in the New York Supreme Court to extend the statute of limitations on civil cases involving gender-based violence and secured a restraining order against Columbia University reaching out to Hadden's victims. [4]

In 2024, he filed more than 100 new cases in the New York Supreme Court against Darius Paduch and his employers. DiPietro alleged that the hospitals which employed Paduch, including Weill Cornell Medical Center and Northwell Health, attempted to conceal his sexual abuse of male patients including minors. [5] [6] His support for legislative reform to protect victims of sexual assault has been recognized by City & State which named him a "Trailblazer in Law". [7]
