Antidoping is a Mexican reggae band formed in the summer of 1992 in Mexico City. They fuse roots reggae, ska and Caribbean rhythms with an urban flavour. [1]

Background

The band was formed in 1992, by Pedro and Manuel Apodaca, they started their career in the town of Coyoacán. [2] Antidoping has been an active member of the Razteca reggae movement in Mexico, [3] sharing the stage with many different artists, including Israel Vibrations, Alpha Blondy the Skatalies and many other important reggae and ska bands. [4] They have toured Europe and across North America. [3]

Leopoldo Dante Tévez, known as Leo Dan, is an Argentine composer and singer born in Villa Atamisqui, Santiago del Estero Province. He recorded more than 20 albums during his long career during the late 20th century between Argentina and Mexico. His appreciation for Mexican music led him to record with mariachis, and from there, he went to international fame. His music was well received by the Mexican public since his voice was a good match to the traditional mariachi sound.

They reformed in 1983 and have played together ever since.

Couleur Café Festival is an annual urban contemporary music festival taking place around the end of June or early July in the city of Brussels, Belgium, organised since 1990. Since its inception, the festival had been located at Tour & Taxis, but from its 2017 edition it has moved to the Heysel Plateau near the Atomium. The scope of the three-day festival lies on world music with as main styles funk, hiphop, reggae, dance, dub, soul, Latin, blues and rock divided over four stages.
