Antuan Simmons (born March 31, 1979) is a former American football cornerback.
Simmons played college football at the University of Southern California. He is famous at USC for intercepting a pass by catching the ball with his legs during a game against UCLA in 2001, returning the interception 34 yards for a touchdown.
Near the end of the 1999 college football season, Simmons suffered a back injury which required him to sit out at the end of the season. While undergoing an MRI on his back in the summer of 2000, a series of tests determined that there were tumors in his chest and near his kidneys. As a result, Simmons spent six weeks in the hospital and underwent three surgeries. Simmons survived a near ordeal with death and lost forty pounds. Yet, through determination, Simmons returned to USC in January 2001 and fully prepared for the 2001 football season. Prior to the 2001 season, Simmons was USC's spokesman at Pac-10 Media Day, and Simmons ended up starting all twelve games at free safety. His interception and touchdown against UCLA are considered a gratifying highlight for Simmons and the 2001 season.
Undrafted in 2002, Simmons signed with the San Diego Chargers, but did not survive the final cuts. In 2003, he played for the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe and signed with the San Francisco 49ers but again did not make the roster. He played in the Arena Football League (AFL) for the Los Angeles Avengers from 2004 to 2005.
After his playing career ended, he began coaching. Presently, he is the head defensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Laguna Creek High School, in Elk Grove, CA.
Simmons helped their then starting running back, Don Jackson to lead the section and division in rushing yards in the 2010 season. Before the end of the season, he was leading the state in yards, and was number 4 in the nation, before Laguna failed to make the playoffs.

Carson Hilton Palmer is an American former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons, primarily with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Arizona Cardinals. He played college football for the USC Trojans, winning the Heisman Trophy as a senior in 2002.
Matthew Stephen Leinart is an American former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. He played college football for the USC Trojans, where he won the Heisman Trophy and led his team to an undefeated season as a junior. Selected tenth overall by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2006 NFL Draft, Leinart primarily served as Kurt Warner's backup for four seasons. He spent his final three seasons in a backup role for the Houston Texans and the Oakland Raiders. Leinart was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2017.

He played college football for the USC Trojans, earning first-team All-American honors in 1988. Peete was selected in the sixth round of the 1989 NFL Draft. Timothy McDonald is an American former football safety who played for 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). McDonald played college football for the USC Trojans, and was honored as a two-time All-American and two-time team most valuable player (MVP). A second-round pick in the 1987 NFL Draft, he played for the St. Louis / Phoenix Cardinals (1987–1992) and the San Francisco 49ers (1993–1999). Upon the conclusion of his playing career, McDonald entered coaching, most recently serving as the defensive backs coach for the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills.

The UCLA Bruins, 7–0–1 and ranked No. 1, with senior quarterback Gary Beban as a Heisman Trophy candidate, played the USC Trojans, 8–1 and ranked No. 4, with junior running back O. J. Simpson also as a Heisman candidate. This game is widely regarded as the signature game in the UCLA–USC rivalry as well as one of the 20th-century Games of the Century. The 64-yard run by Simpson for the winning touchdown is regarded as one of the greatest run plays in college football.

The 2007 UCLA Bruins football team represented the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the 2007 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They played their home games at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California and were coached by Karl Dorrell for the regular season. It was Dorrell's fifth, and final season as the UCLA head coach. UCLA's season was marked by numerous injuries, particularly at quarterback. Original starting quarterback Ben Olson injured his knee early in the season and missed over four games. Backup quarterback Patrick Cowan also suffered a knee injury but returned for two more games before suffering a collapsed lung against Arizona. Coach Karl Dorrell was fired following the loss in the 77th UCLA–USC rivalry football game, the final regular season game for the Bruins. Defensive coordinator DeWayne Walker became the interim coach for the 2007 Las Vegas Bowl, in which the Bruins lost to BYU, 17–16. The Bruins finished 6–7 overall, 5–4 in the Pacific-10 Conference, where they were tied for fourth place.

Due to suffering a shoulder injury in his senior season, he was not selected until the fourth round of the 2013 NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Barkley has been a member of 11 different NFL teams, mostly as a backup. His most notable stint was with the Chicago Bears, where he served as the team's starter in 2016.

The 1997 USC Trojans football team represented the University of Southern California during the 1997 NCAA Division I-A football season, finishing with a 6–5 record and tied for fifth place in the Pacific-10 Conference with a 4–4 conference record; despite a qualifying record, the Trojans were not invited to a bowl game. The team was coached by John Robinson, in his second stint as head coach of the Trojans, and played their home games at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
