Aphonnic, sometimes stylized as APHONNIC, is a Spanish metal band from Vigo that was formed in 2001 by members of O Pequeno Baltimore.

The group has won some local awards, including Maketon given by Los 40 Vigo to the best album by a local group, which has been won by the band for 3 years in a row. [3] [4] They were also awarded the Martín Codax Prize in the metal category year 2017. [5]

Martin Codax or Codaz, Martín Codax or Martim Codax was a Galician medieval joglar, possibly from Vigo, Galicia in present-day Spain. He may have been active during the middle of the thirteenth century, judging from scriptological analysis. He is one of only two out of a total of 88 authors of cantigas d'amigo who used only the archaic strophic form aaB. He employed an archaic rhyme-system whereby i~o / a~o were used in alternating strophes. In addition Martin Codax consistently utilised a strict parallelistic technique known as leixa-pren. There is no documentary biographical information concerning the poet, dating the work at present remains based on theoretical analysis of the text.

Moaña is a municipality of 18,709 inhabitants located in Galicia, Spain in the province of Pontevedra. It is one of the five municipalities with Bueu, Cangas do Morrazo, Marin and Vilaboa that forms the peninsula of O Morrazo. This peninsula separates the Ria of Vigo from the Ria of Pontevedra. The coast of Moaña has several beaches and the area combines tourism with traditional seafood production. The surrounding sea contains sea farms where mussels, oysters and other species are cultivated and it is an idyllic place for practicing sea sports activities. The Strait of Rande, where the Rande Bridge now connects Moaña with the municipality of Redondela, was the scene of the Battle of Vigo Bay. Moaña has developed a significant cultural life with the highlights of this being the Interceltic Festival of Morrazo, the Week of Carnival and numerous other local feasts. Social movements were relevant in Moaña in the first half of the 20th century where the presence of the CNT was significant. In fact, the current local pub/bar for retired people was the head office of this syndicate in Moaña during the Second Spanish Republic.

A cantiga is a medieval monophonic song, characteristic of the Galician-Portuguese lyric. Over 400 extant cantigas come from the Cantigas de Santa Maria, narrative songs about miracles or hymns in praise of the Holy Virgin. There are near 1700 secular cantigas but music has only survived for a very few: six cantigas de amigo by Martín Codax and seven cantigas de amor by Denis of Portugal.

In the first full-length release since their album Only An Orchard Away in 2006, Box Codax tell the peculiar and young life of Hellabuster in 13 episodes, with each song being accompanied by its own video.

The accolade was established to recognize the most talented performers of Latin music. The nominees and winners were originally selected by a voting poll conducted among program directors of Spanish-language radio stations in the United States and also based on chart performance on Billboard Latin music charts, with the results being tabulated and certified by the accounting firm Deloitte. <i>Salto al color</i> 2019 studio album by Amaral

Salto al color is the eighth studio album by the Spanish band Amaral. The songs were composed by Eva Amaral and Juan Aguirre except "Ondas Do Mar De Vigo", which was composed by Martin Códax. Eva Amaral, who sings and plays the guitar, and Juan Aguirre, who plays acoustic, electric and Portuguese guitars, both took charge of the production. The programming was by Eva Amaral, Juan Aguirre, Amit Kewalramani and Pablo Gareta. The keyboard and piano is played by Tomás Virgós while Chris Taylor and Ricardo Esteban both play the banjo. The percussion is by Tino di Geraldo and Álex Moreno, the latter of whom also plays the drums. The album also features a string orchestra, which was recorded at Angel Recording Studios in London.

Los Piratas was a Spanish rock band from Vigo, founded in 1991. They were considered one of the most influential groups in the pop and rock scenes in Spain. They released five studio albums, two live albums, three compilations and four albums of rarities, before disbanding in 2004.

"Oliveira dos cen anos", is the name of the hymn created in honour of the RC Celta de Vigo's centenary. The song was released by the Spanish rapper C. Tangana, real name Antón Álvarez Alfaro. The music was written by Álvarez himself and his common collaborators: Alizzz, Pablopablo, alongside Harto Rodríguez. The lyrics were also written by C. Tangana, Pablo Drexler, Alizzz, Xosé Lois Romero, Xisco Feijoó, Quico Comesaña, and Keltoi! vocalist Sime. It was performed by Casablanca Choir, As Lagharteiras, Lilaina, Cantó, Drexler and Quirante. C. Tangana wrote the lyrics in Galician even though he is not fluent in the language.
