Air Wisconsin Airlines is a regional airline based at Appleton International Airport in the town of Greenville, Wisconsin, near Appleton. Air Wisconsin originally operated as one of the original United Express partners in 1985, and subsequently operated as US Airways Express on behalf of US Airways prior to becoming an American Eagle regional air carrier. Between March 2018 and April 2023, Air Wisconsin operated exclusively as a United Express regional air carrier once again with primary hubs located at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). This came to an end in April 2023 as the carrier switched to conducting solely American Eagle branded flights, per a new contract with American Airlines.

Appleton International Airport, formerly Outagamie County Regional Airport, is an airport located in Greenville, Wisconsin, United States, 3 nautical miles west of Appleton. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2023–2027. Along with Madison’s Dane County Regional Airport, it is one of two airports in the State of Wisconsin categorized as a small hub. The airport covers 1,638 acres (6.63 km2) at an elevation of 918 feet (280 m) above sea level.

It is a member of the Wisconsin Technical College System and serves people in the Appleton, Wisconsin/Fox Cities area. It serves about 50,000 people each year and offers more than 200 associate degree, technical diploma, and certificate programs as well as instruction related to 20 apprenticeship trades. It has credit transfer agreements with more than 30 four-year colleges and universities.

Charles Whittlesey was a soldier, geologist, historian, and an investigator of mounds relics of the United States. He is described by Ephraim George Squier and Edwin Hamilton Davis in their book Ancient Monuments of the Mississippi Valley as a "zealous investigator" in the field of "American antiquarian research."
Fox Cities Roller Derby, formerly known as The Fox City Foxz, is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Appleton, Wisconsin. Founded in 2007, the league consists of two travel teams which compete against teams from other leagues. Fox Cities is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).
Doing business as D. H. & A. B. Tower, brothers David Horatio Tower and Ashley Bemis Tower were internationally known American architects, civil and mechanical engineers based in Holyoke, Massachusetts, who designed mills and factories in the United States from Maine to California as well as abroad, including in Canada, Mexico, Germany, Brazil, the United Kingdom, India, China, Japan, and Australia. By the time of its dissolution, the firm was described by one contemporary account as "the largest firm of paper mill architects in the country at that time"; its files reportedly contained more than 8,000 architectural plans for sites, mill machinery, and waterpower improvements.
The 52nd Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in eastern Wisconsin, the district comprises part of southern Outagamie County, including most of the city of Appleton and the villages of Eden and Oakfield. The district also contains the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, the Fox Cities Stadium, the Appleton campus of the Fox Valley Technical College, Lawrence University, the Fox River Paper Company Historic District, the Appleton Locks 1–3 Historic District and the Appleton Lock 4 Historic District. The district is represented by Republican Jerry L. O'Connor, since January 2023.
