Arbat is a pedestrian zone in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It is located on Jibek Joly Street, between Abylai Khan Avenue and Nazarbayev Street. The zone features many stores such as TsUM, or Silk Way shopping mall and kiosks. [1]
Created in the late 1980s, Arbat was the first area in Almaty to be turned into a pedestrian zone. The name is taken from Moscow's Arbat Street. The zone was reconstructed in 2017, and now features fountains and is connected to Panfilov Street Promenade. [2] It is planned to extend the pedestrian area to Seyfullin Prospect. [3]

Almaty Metro is a rapid transit/metro system in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The first line of the system was opened on 1 December 2011, after more than 23 years of construction. A 2.9-kilometre (1.8 mi), two-station extension of the Metro to Moskva station opened on 18 April 2015.
Bartogai Lake is a reservoir in the Almaty Region of Kazakhstan. As it is far away from any pollution sources, it has remained relatively pristine. It was built in the early 1980s on the Chilik River at the base of the Sogety Plateau as part of an irrigation project. The dam was completed in 1983 and the site became operational in 1985. It collects water during the winter and spring and releases water for irrigation from June through September.
Almaty Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Almaty, Kazakhstan which was opened on 18 September 2016 and seats 12,000 spectators for ice hockey. Apart from hosting ice hockey matches, the arena is venue for boxing, figure skating, basketball, concerts, and other events. It is one of the venues to host the 2017 Winter Universiade. The arena is located in the north of punched Ryskulov Avenue, to the west from Momyshuly street in the Alatau District.

Panfilov Street Promenade is a promenade located in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Abay Opera House, where the promenade starts, and KBTU Building are located within it, which was redesigned by Danish urban designer Jan Gehl. The promenade ends in Arbat.

Boralday is a kurgan necropolis in Almaty, Kazakhstan, dating to the early Iron Age and associated with the Saka people. Located on the southeastern outskirts of the village of Boralday, the site comprises 47 burial mounds spread over 430 hectares on the left bank of the Bolshaya Almatinka River.

Arbat is a pedestrian zone located at the Beibitshilik Avenue in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. It was opened in June 2018 at the eve of Capital City Day. There are benches and bike paths in the zone as well as about 700 seedlings of spruce, chestnut, white birch and 1000 roses are planted.
