Archil M. Gegeshidze (born 1956 in Tbilisi, Georgia) is a Georgian diplomat and scholar. He is currently the Executive Director of the Levan Mikeladze Foundation. He was Georgia's ambassador to the United States from 2013 to 2016.

Gegeshidze studied social geography at Tbilisi State University, receiving his PhD (Candidate of Science) in Economic and Social Geography in 1985. In 1994 Gegeshidze became a post-graduate student in the Department for Social and Economic Geography of the Tbilisi State University.
He took part in international seminars such as 'Japan, Europe and North America: Toward a G-3 World?' at the Salzburg Global Seminar and 'Decision Making in U.S. Foreign Policy' at the United States Information Agency International Visitor Program. He was a Visiting Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University in the U.S. in 2000-2001. Later, he received the Fulbright Alumni Initiative Award and in 2005-2006 the International Policy Fellowship.
From 2001 until 2013 he worked as a Senior Fellow at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies, a Tbilisi-based think-tank.
He fluently speaks English, Russian and French.
From 1993 to 1994, Gegeshidze was deputy head of the First European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. From 1994 to 1995, he was State Advisor to the Staff of Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze. From 1996 to 1997, he was Assistant to the President on national security affairs. From 1997 to 2000, he was head of the section for foreign policy analysis at the State Chancellery of the President of Georgia and worked as Chief Foreign Policy Advisor. In 1999 he was awarded with the diplomatic rank of an extraordinary and plenipotentiary Ambassador.
In March 2013, Gegeshidze was appointed Georgia's ambassador to the United States, and served from April 15, 2013 until October 9, 2016. [1] [2] [3]

George Khutsishvili Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, was a prominent Georgian public figure, one of the founders of conflictology in Georgia and the Caucasian region and a scientist in the field of peace and conflict studies. In 1994 he founded the independent non-for-profit and non-partisan International Center on Conflict and Negotiation (ICCN). Between 1995 and 2013 he was the publisher of Peace Times, Conflicts and Negotiations and Alternatives to Conflict’ amongst others. For many years he was invited to work as a professor at different leading universities in Georgia and abroad. George Khutsishvili made significant input into study of the essence of theoretical thinking and the problem of the infinite in the light of philosophy and mathematics (1970-80s). From the 1990s to the end of his days he dedicated his life to establishing and developing peace and conflict studies in Georgia.
The Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies also known as Rondeli Foundation is one of Georgia's leading independent think tanks, based in Tbilisi. It was founded in 1998 with the declared aim of "helping improve public policy decision-making in Georgia through research and analysis, training of policymakers and policy analysts, and public education about the strategic issues, both domestic and international, facing Georgia and the Caucasus". It has played an important role in training new public servants and scholars.
South Ossetia is an autonomous region in Georgia, approximately 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) above sea level on the slopes of the Greater Caucasus. Although it declared independence in 2008, only a few countries acknowledge it. The region is inhabited by Ossetians, an Iranian ethnic group. According to Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela and the microstates of Tuvalu and Nauru, it is one of the world's newest independent states. All other states and international organisations consider South Ossetia an autonomous region of Georgia, functioning as a de facto state for twenty years after declaring independence and conducting a successful armed rebellion. Its Georgian inhabitants have been displaced. South Ossetia has been a source of tension for a number of years, with Georgia and Russia's political differences impeding peaceful independence and breeding a turbulent series of events which undermine the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

She served as Ambassador of Georgia to Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. 2020-2021, she has been fellow of the Frontier Europe Initiative of the Middle East Institute as part of a programme focusing on strategic issues and state relations between Middle East countries and those parts of Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus that constitute a frontier area between Western Europe, Russia and the Middle East.
